The moment the Ottawa Titans won game 3 of their championship. Being in the front row with a sold-out stadium was another amazimg experience. #ottawa

An Evansville Otters player striking out in the top of the 9th inning. With two outs already and the Ottawa Titans leading, this call marks the end of the game.

The energy was amazing tonight watching the Ottawa Titans sweep their playoff match. We're going to the Championship! #ottawa

Since I've participated in the past, I want to state publicly that I am not participating in the Inkfort publishing derby this year due to its usage of generative AI. I do not support or use generative AI.

Bayview Station, one month apart. I took the first image because it had a very striking vibe. Thanks to the city, it now looks quite different. #ottawa

April 2026: A stretch of railway track, overgrown and surrounded by foliage. The vegetation is mostly brown due to season, blending with the wood and rusty metal of the tracks. The rails continue toward the camera into an embankment containing the path the photo was taken from.

May 2026: The same stretch of rails, from roughly the same position. Almost all of the foliage has been removed, except for a few trees in the far background. The vegetation has greened, but the scene is still mostly brown from the empty dirt. Almost the only green remaining is the plants growing within the tracks, a reverse of the expected ground colour.

I had to dig to figure out how I even ended up on that AI Hater blocklist because I haven't said much here, but I'm wearing that block as a badge of pride. (Best I can tell I ended up on that list because I liked a quote tweet of a founder post. Literally, that's it.)

I somehow managed to get the last ticket in this theatre for the TADC finale on premiere night, and I could not be more excited. And also completely dreading whatever psychological horrors await us in that finale.

I don't think I've ever lost enthusiasm on something that's at the perfect intersection of my nerdy interests as fast as I did when I looked up the prices on the Lego Pokemon announcement. Absolute madness.

Since Publishing Derby is over, I can finally reveal my entry for this year: Blood Upon the Wind is a historical fantasy murder mystery. A killer vampire is on the loose and the only one that can stop them is a strange detective who is not what he seems. I'll be relaunching this fall so stay tuned!

Since I'm already being controversial today... With Pride in Ottawa coming up next week, for those who boycotted Capital Pride 2024 and feel bold enough to show up this year: you may want to forget what you did, but some of us still remember. #ottawa

I’m back! I saw your messages on here & elsewhere—thank you all <3. I’m deeply disappointed in @bsky.app moderation; equating pushback against people like JKR with the harm they cause to trans ppl only enables more violence. I’ll talk more soon but even a day away from social media has been healthy.

I also wish on transphobes all the harm they inflict on us. Bring back Jessie Gender! Transphobes are not welcome here.

The more articles I see about Bluesky, the more it feels like an industry psyop because they see a site being moderately successful while having basic tools for limiting hate speech, and seethe at the notion someone could exist happily without constantly debating fascists.

My one UI hot take: Dark mode has killed good light mode design. Our interfaces used to actually have colour and contrast in there. Now that dark mode is the default and everything is shades of black, many designers just do a lazy invert for light mode and make everything blindingly solid white.

This year in writing, I am pursuing my rather ambitious goal of trying to publish five books during 2025. Probably will include taking publishing more seriously in general; this year's releases should nicely round out my author catalogue.

The past couple of days have been crap but I did get three rare cards each in the two card packs I bought, so at least there's that.

Six single-star rare cards from the Pokemon Stellar Crown TCG series. First row: Grimmsnarl, Zeraora, Grand Tree. Second row: Bouffalant, Klinklang, Alcremie.

The joys of dealing with ISP tech support. Describe what is very clearly an issue with the modem. The guy just fully refuses to believe it could possibly be a modem issue, even as I watch my modem bootloop. So now it's being investigated as a completely different issue it is clearly not.

Good morning Bluesky! Figured I should give a brief introduction over here. You'll find me as Farengeto in most places. I'm a programmer by trade; but here you'll find me as a non-binary ace SFF indie author. At time of posting, I've published five books of varying length, with more on the way!
