Thirteen years ago, I started work on STAR WARS: A NEW DAWN by getting suggestions and feedback from the REBELS producers Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman. Never got to meet or guve a copy of the final product to Greg, but finally took care of it at Dragon Con. Better late than never!

I said it was because our rural office’s editors had been working double jobs forever, producing magazines and books with minimal staffing, focusing solely on making budget. The city mice had all the staff and video equipment and none of the sales; for us adding the web was just one more damn thing.

Recently read DRAGNET: THE CASE OF THE COURTEOUS KILLER in its original 1958 Pocket Book form (surprisingly, an ebook exists). Richard Deming captures Jack Webb's patter pretty well, but here's a curiosity: he spells "mug shot" as "mugg shot" throughout. Was that spelling a thing?

SKY CAPTAIN’s SDCC buzz (and giant robot!) was enough for us to put it on the cover of an issue of Comics Buyer’s Guide — which our newsstand distributor decided no one in their right mind could possibly want. So they undershipped it by 90%, killing the magazine’s newsstand play in its infancy.

Team Faraway capped off a great TerrifiCon by talking with Diedrich Bader about — what else? — the BEVERLY HILLBILLIES moviek in which he worked with both Lily Tomlin and Dabney Coleman.
