I do believe in rehabilitation for almost anyone, as long as there is good faith, genuine effort at repair. Rehabilitation, however, does not mean automatic forgiveness by victims or the public, nor does it mean that person is entitled to a platform. Restorative justice requires actual restoration.
![I'm a constituent of Des Moines. After having read your cowardly remarks regarding supposed "fairness in sports" when it comes to trans participation, I'm going to be discouraging all my progressive friends from voting for you. You are NOT a progressive if you're willing to throw us transgender people under the bus.
The hysteria around trans participation in sports is inherently absurd. It centers around no more than a dozen children in the entire nation. MULTIPLE scientific studies now have found that trans women have no biological "advantage" in sports. And when it comes to children, the differences are even less. Humans do not have significant sexual dimorphism within the animal kingdom. [Link 1, in reply]
It also won't stop at sports, and if you've ever even glanced at a history book, you'd know that already. "Fairness in sports" is a shibboleth while we keep losing more and more rights we already had enshrined in the law. The Lemkin Institute is on red flag alert #3 for the United States heading down the path of genocide of transgender people. Your words are now part of this horrific legacy. History will judge you all for your capitulation to genocide. [Link 2, in reply]
Democrats who cave on human rights are cowards, and it's what we should expect from your party. Transphobia and genocide have proven losing campaign strategies again and again.
We will not vote for our own extermination just to keep others warm. If our votes are important enough to make or break an election, act like it.
