The park rangers who installed surveillance cameras near the site a week ago told me the extra security was for the MLB All-Star game events nearby. All-Star game came and went. The cameras stayed. The Philadelphia Police Department is not aware of any credible threats to the President’s House.

Philadelphia’s historic sites draw tourists from around the world. They’re getting an incomplete version of the President’s House.
Visitors at the site of George Washington's former home responded emotionally to evidence of the largely partisan battle playing out over how to best tell the complicated story of America's founding.

An iPad inside Independence Hall tells visitors that a second floor room was used in the 1850s to hold individuals “accused of crimes of the period.” Originally, the screen read “accused fugitives of slavery.” @fallonroth.bsky.social and I discover more retelling of history by Trump’s admin. 🎁 🔗
