i have all of digital plarail (and most of digital tomica) now

several pc cd-rom boxes spread on a grey carpet in an arc. the top row has the original larger release of the base digital plarail game, the first three expansions in slim cardboard sleeves, and the first boxed expansion with jewel case inside as well as the thomas the tank engine combination pack with the first licensed expansion alongside the base game as well as separate copies of the two thomas packa in boxes. the second row contains two digital plarail and tomica dx hard plastic cases with the player's guidebook with demo cd sitting on top as well as the third train expansion, the only building pack, and a copy of the first thomas expansion in its jewel case. the bottom row has a few copies of both digital plarail and tomica in their jewel cases. the covers of the boxes show the trains or accessories included

the whole idea that you need to "have something worth saying" before you put yourself out there or make a little page, is backwards. running a little site, like human expression, is about just being you, being dumb, being creative for no reason! there doesnt have to be a grand purpose. be stupid

When it rains, it pours Gundam merchandise, in this Asahi Graph photo-essay from 1981: the peak of the Gundam phenomenon. This was the room of a high schooler who ran a fan club. Much of this stuff is worth a small fortune now.

i'm driving the tohoku joetsu shinkansen

a picture of a somewhat beat-up box of the plarail 1984 radio control i'm a driver tohoku joetsu shinkansen set. the box has a light blue stripe across the top with the title of the set and one down the left with the contents. a rectangle shows the contents of the set, a radio control 200 series shinkansen on an oval layout with tunnel, station, and accessories. the rest of the box shows a much larger promotional setup with the set incorporated into the center, with many shaking blue train tracks traversing around through stations and up bridges with different colorful three-car japanese trains populating them

goodbye yellow brick road has gotta be in my top five albums somewhere

i pulled a second controller out of one of my thomas sets, i'm supposed to get a bunch more tomix stuff in the mail tomorrow but i probably won't set any of it up until next weekend

a tomix model train set up on carpet, a figure eight with elevated curves and a red truss bridge forming the cross of the eight sits to the left of an oval with two wired switches connecting them, a yard with a few more unpowered switches hold stationary trains while a green and orange tokai type train cross the bridge and a black steam locomotive with freight cars rounds the oval

huh, if i actually post things then people can actually interact with them. if you haven't checked it out, i am often adding more japanese toy trains to my website www.fallinsideahole.com/updates.html

three silver subway-style trains pass each other on a multi-level plastic plarail train set, with two trains on a two-track elevated line and a third on the lower line that travels under the upper lines. a grey road system curves along the inside of the lower track with a red suv turning the corner

a loop of several track sections making up a small plastic thomas the tank engine set. several engines sit at various points around the oval, some with carriages trailing behind. the track sections are mostly green and brown and have trackside accessories like stations, a water tower, and a cow. one track section includes a turntable and siding and another has a red drawbridge

the cover of a 1980s plarail set featuring the white and green 200 series shinkansen. the box is mostly yellow with a cartoon train traveling through a green countryside background at the bottom and blue clouds around the three plastic windows showing the three cars of the included train

an old green plarail electric commuter train, curved to show the yellow wheels and two unpowered cars trailing the lead power car, with metal power switch hanging out the front

fallinsideahole @fallinsideahole.com · 10/01/2025

started playing with some of my japanese n scale trains

an n scale (small) model train track set up on a carpeted floor. the main portion of the track forms a figure eight with sloping curves leading to a trestle bridge crossing the perpendicular lower track. a switch track leads over to another loop of track. some boxes, loose track, and trains in plastic cases sit around the track. a silver electric locomotive with lit headlights pulls a blue passenger train up the back of the figure eight heading towards the bridge. a steam locomotive sits on the branch connecting the figure eight and the loop

three cardboard boxes on a carpet, from left to right: the japanese box for the super game boy, featuring a rainbow-backed illustration of a stylized super game boy cartridge; the pink hello kitty-covered box of a japan-only pink game boy pocket with hello kitty's face and sanrio graphics as well as a pack in game; and the box for the japan-only super game boy 2, showing the translucent blue cartridge at an angle with both a red and green led shining through the plastic

what the fuck do you mean tumbling fishing choo choo

a colorful plastic train toy with an odd looping track and little black steam locomotive of one of the common types of mall kiosk and tourist trap type "tumbling loco" toys. this version incorporates a large platform turntable at one of the reversing loops of the toy that has a version of the traditionally wind-up magnetic fishing game that instead only operates while the train is actively traveling around that portion of the loop

thrifting today, an old robotix set from milton-bradley, linux in a box, some vhs tapes and a few eight tracks from artists you might actually want to listen to (and one of the ford quad demo tapes)

a spread of items on a carpet including a robotix plastic construction set, a copy of open linux in a white and yellow box, several vhs tapes including an episode of star trek: the next generation and three herbie the love bug movies, and four eight track tapes

aerosmith's night in the ruts, yes' going for the one, and ringo starr's ringo on eight track tape

a robotix plastic construction set with its box lid above its open inner tray of parts. the components vary in size and mostly follow a black and grey color scheme, a motor unit and battery box, and a sci-fi theme (and greebling)

here's a telefunken-branded vcr (video cassette recording) tape that's such a pure chrome mix that it smells exactly like a fresh box of crayola crayons

the vcr cassette out of its box and held at a slight angle. the cassette is an almost-square cartridge with an orange label. the label has a previous recording struck through and allegidly currently contains a recording related to holland deutschland as written on it most recently. a clear window in the left middle portion of the label shows the empty upper tape reel.

the rear and top of the tape at an angle, with the tape door open. a strip of tape travels from the top left to bottom right of the cassette. the concentric spools for the two stacked tape reels inside can be seen in the middle of the rear of the cartridge

found more tapes than i was expecting today

a collection of books, vhs tapes, and some other objects on a carpet floor. there are three different rows of mostly home-recorded tapes with a few larger plastic shells and some thomas the tank engine tapes at the bottom. a few floppy disks, cassette tapes, and cd roms as well as two remote controls and a vcr tipped onto its back are also pictured. a mousepad attachment for a keyboard tray and a brown package of color slides are also pictured

the rows of vhs tapes, showing some pan-am related tapes and some other short-run, minor-interest tapes in the first row. the second row has handwritten labels facing out, with some containing the o.c. on fox, wwf matches, and that 70s show. the third row is showing the branded side of the tape spines, with several kodak tapes as well as some from tdk, sony, maxell, and basf. two remote controls from sony, one for a dvd player and the other a pan-tilt-zoom camera setup, as well as five thomas the tank engine tapes are seen at the bottom

magic square on the merlin makes up for its small grid in game play by not flipping the middle light when you press the center button of a row/column; having only previously played larger lights out-types where every space flips all adjacent spaces it is an interesting variation
