Simplest of pleasures, the greatest meaning. Warmth of the day folding under the horizon and lingering warmth held in the rock. Crickets calling and gentle lapping waves. Watching the birds bed down and the moon mirror back. The poetry of stillness.

Paddocks of Canola in full flower across southern Eyre Peninsula currently. The winter grown, rain fed, low or no till crop of hybrid cultivar Brassica napus and Brassica junicea will turn from yellow through to green then brown/black as the flowers finish and seed pods form up ready for harvest.
Fields of bright yellow flowers between ribbons of Eucalyptus trees in the riverbeds scale out over the landscape to a large blue cove ocean and a tree covered peninsula in the distance. Sheds and houses dispersed across the countryside, and a gentle sandy beach fills the inner cove. Later in the afternoon, the sun is fading, and the thin cloud cover these is is turning a blue-grey overhead.

Tree favourites - Australian native flora Red gum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) at Big Swamp, southern Eyre Peninsula. To me, home trees. #lovetrees #moretreesplease
Large eucalyptus tree in the middle of image with calm lake behind. The pale trucked tree has branches spreading widely across the whole image, holding leafy green canopy, with a stunningly clear blue sunny sky seen in the distance.

It was wonderful to see so many earthworms today while Dad and I turnt soil to plant tubestock native shrubs, grasses, and trees. Knowing they are there, quietly going about their fabulous underground work, is very comforting. #Habitatrestoration #farmsforwildlife

Winter holidays at home in South Australia and time to get the native tubestock planted. Lovely young sheoaks, coastal grasses, hakeas, daisy, these two gorgeous native pine siblings that look like they are reaching out for each other and want to be planted together. #habitatrestoration #habitat
Looking down onto a box of tube stock young plants with tree guards off to the left side and a paper list of native plants scientific and common names and a pencil.Cross section looking across the top of a box of young plants growing out of black tube pots arranged tightly together. Two tiny fine leaf native pine saplings in to close together square top pots. The little saplings appear like they have little leafy covered arms reaching out to each other.

Oh my froggy goodness. They are all out and about after substantial recent rain here on Eyre Peninsula. The sound of the frog chorus pulled me away from the comfort of home and teatime down to my local wetland for FrogSpotter survey tonight. #citizenscience #frog #australianwildlife #frogfun

Little brake from brumation for some in-house foraging of this handsome lad. Terrarium warmth is up as South Australia's ambient day temperature is way down, and we are finally getting some beautiful rainfall. Even still, the sound of the rain often sets off an indoor frog chorus.

Ceduna late afternoon winters light. Fresh breeze makes my hand cold as I dive them into pockets and ignore the crisp chill on my nose, cheeks, and ears and lean into the beauty of the cold. #Ceduna #SouthAustralia

Donnington Loop Track, Lincoln National Park, Eyre Peninsula, #SouthAustralia
Industrial looking lighthouse standing in background against large white-grey rain clouds and a 1/3 bright sunny blue sky. Arid South Australia coastal mallee heath vegetation in various shades of green in the foreground with a thin dirt and rock walking trail centre of image leading to the lighthouse.

Native Australian tea trees stand on a limestone sea shore in the golden afternoon sunlight. Blue sky with fluffy white cloud 4/8th filling the background, yellow tall grass gently blowing in light breeze in left lower corner and the tea tree siloettes dominate the scene with their low growing, twisted, dwarf looking form. A calm, relaxed and peaceful seascape that was filled with the calls of many native birds.

An understatement to say in South Australia we are going through at big dry, many below average rainfall and heat records have been sadly broken. On the coast this morning we had probably 0.4mm 'rain' and I love how even that is enough to wake the moss. #wildmoments #moss

Eyre Peninsula blue gum (Eucalyptus petiolaris) woodlands are about a week into their flowering, and it's stunning! At a time when nectar sources are incredibly lean every tree, including this planted roadside one, is important. Sound on to hear the wild rainbow lorikeets and wattle birds.

Shared for all the habitat/ecosystem restorers. 20 yrs ago this area looked like moonscape. Gradually, this critically endangered Drooping sheoak grassy woodland is coming back into form in Coffin Bay National Park through careful grazing management and unwavering commitment. #restorationecology

Hi Tree Planters, Question: Each time you plant a new tree, what does your subconscious hope about the age that your new tree may reach? I realised today my subconscious whispers 200 years, 200 years. #treeplanting #legacy2225
