at some point I considered publishing a soundsystem review blog that gave my critique of every venue or independent system I heard out, but then I realized probably everyone would hate me if I did that

it’s crazy how the economics of mass production and globalization have driven expectations of prices for everyday goods so low that it’s nearly infeasible for anything to be made with high quality durable materials bc the cost is perceived as exorbitant

in the lab again

A color separated printed page of digital texture layered in orange and blue.

a screenshot of an art print, a jumble of textures with dominant red, teal and purple.

A print with the composition of a centered gradiated circle in blue with a red core, a yellow, magenta and green ring around that and various pieces of layered texture in green and dark gray around overall image.

A woman's face with horizontal shadows across it from window blinds. The shadows bend in such a way that it creates dimension. Where there would be black, there is instead highly processed halftone textures in dark grayish blue and deep orange.

it's madening that most audio simulation software is closed-source and only runs on windows... like, I would love to contribute a GPU solver backend to any of them but instead I'm thinking about 'git init'ing a new project...

The batteries are design for easy assembly and mechanical protection. @faited.bsky.social did the CAD for these gorgeous CNC machines wooden boxes that slide in two packs. Besides that, each box has its own BMS from AliExpress, along with a 160A circuit breaker and active ventilation.

One of the Tesla batteries slid inside the unpainted enclosure.

Testing the 12s BMS before installation.

20kW mobile power solution for renegade raves. This is the most recent project that @faited.bsky.social and I have been working on. The idea is to package two reclaimed Tesla Model S battery packs (5.3kWh, 74p6s 18650 Li-Ion each) in a wooden box with BMS to build a modular power solution.

One of the 10kWh batteries next to an off-the-shelf inverter.

you can appreciate and hold space for people in community who aren’t / don’t necessarily want to be your friend. it’s not actually radical to only support people you are friends with—that’s called cronyism / nepotism
