Kickstarter officially banning adult content now. Knew this was coming, but it still sucks to have yet another part of the internet that I've been explicitly evicted from. Digital gentrification is exhausting.

Screenshot of Kickstarter's new rules against mature content, in which everything pornographic is banned. It's a long document that's formatted in a way that I can't copy and paste all the text that's in it, but the first is that all point and anything sexual is now banned.

This part of the document outlines how even self censoring your own work will not work, because even the implication of sex is too much. Even in prose works.

This document is confusing because it says that erotic comics ARE allowed... you just can't show sex acts or genitals or try to arouse people. Also you can make sex toys, just so long as they're not for sexual gratification.

This is how Kickstarter's email began:

"Hello,
Kickstarter has always been a home for bold, boundary-pushing creative work, including mature content projects like romance novels, nude art books, and provocative comics. Creators working in this space are a valued part of our community, and that hasn’t changed." And yet it definitely has changed.

3.4k | #varkaven #varven | 🔞 Varka comes back from Nod-Krai, finds his home in disarray, but finds some things have remained the same along the way. 🔗 archiveofourown.org/works/81631771

Title card: "home is where the heart is"
Description: varkaven, 3.4k, explicit, fluff | reunion sex

The scene he found was quite what he expected—the place looked like a dead man’s home. A thick layer of dust covered the hardwood floors, as well as the dust covers over the furniture. The silence was complete, and the only source of light was the rays of moonlight, filtering through the window that faced the back yard.

Varka’s shoulders fell slightly. Of course, he didn’t have to sweep his floors tonight and get the dust covers off of everything, but this house hardly felt like a home.

Venti’s hand tugged at his sleeve. “Say, why wouldn’t you camp out with me for a few days while you pick away at this? It wouldn’t be much different from how you were living in Nod-Krai, and you wouldn’t have to tackle all of this at once.”

I saw some people drawing stuff using negative-space and decided to try it too (though these technically might not quiiiiite count.) Will probably draw some more, they're kinda fun. 😤

A NSFW illustration of two women having sex from a POV perspective. A partly blank silhouette occupies the lower half of the drawing while the upper part is an elf with half-shaved red hair and slight cybernetic features.

A NSFW illustration of two women having sex from a side perspective. A partly blank silhouette on the left side shows a woman with red lipstick eating out another character's torso, which occupies the rest of the image. This was weird to type, but I had a moment of somewhat scientific clarity along with my various mental problems. :)

Zelda 40th anniversary, that's a big one! Time to pull these out (I try not to spam them so much these days, but today it's mandatory). Also, a 35% promo on my website started just in time, in case you'd like to celebrate with a print! 🙏

Collage illustration showing Link, from The Legend of Zelda, leaving a dungeon, holding a sword and shield. The dungeon entrance is sculpted as a monster face, around which 2 spider-like creatures are lurking.
There is a row of stylized repeated trees in the background, and a mountain far in the distance. A fairy hovers in the foreground over some bushes.

Collage illustration based on The Legend of Zelda, for the NES. Link is going up a set of stairs up the mountain, towards a dungeon entrance in the background. But in front of him, in the middle-ground, there is a plateau with a group of Armos statues. One of them, of a different color, seems animated and is coming to fight Link.

Collage illustration based on The Legend of Zelda, showing link on a raft going towards an island with a dungeon entrance. This is a reference to a part of the game where the player floats to an island in this way, but also an allusion to Isle of The Dead, a famous painting by Arnold Bocklin.

Collage illustration based on The Legend of Zelda. Link fights a giant hand trying to grab him. The ground they are standing on is made of rock blocks forming paths and a platform, surrounded by a bright red liquid that looks like lava. There is a skeleton in the foreground, trespassed by a sword, and a dirty old door with a big keyhole in the background.
