Terminé mi primera tipografía para letrear historietas. Proyecto difícil pero que disfruté y aprendí un montón durante el proceso. Mis respetos absolutos a los tipógrafos. Lo único que automaticé fue el kerning con Font Creator, el resto fue forjado a pulso, mucha prueba y error.

Siento que recién en este quinto capítulo de Sundari interioricé más las proporciones y gestualidad de cómo dibujar al personaje y cómo se comporta compositivamente dentro de las viñetas. Voy a tener que refrenar el impulso de no corregir (tantas) viñetas de los primeros tres capítulos.

El llamado de los Elefantes Sagrados de Jharkhand. Hacía mucho tiempo que tenía ganas de hacer una historieta con elefantes, son unas criaturas morfológicamente hermosas y difíciles de dibujar, en especial las cabezas vistas de perfil.

A few pages away from finishing this project, the coloring stage is very satisfying because everything finally comes together compositionally. I realized that I find it quite difficult to draw vegetation in an organic way, so it was pretty challenging. Script by Aaron Shaps.

I’m playing Magic Shandalar for the first time and came across a beautiful card I didn’t know about, Granite Gargoyle. I’m trying to build a red deck around this creature because the artwork is so evocative (basically because it looks like a sphinx 😏)

Some of the tubes I used while painting Khanef. For the blue of the sphinx, I used two Blue Nicker: Light and Cerulean. For the rest of the painting, I worked with Daler Rowney and Pébéo gouaches with a very limited palette: Yellow Ochre, Naples Yellow, Primary Yellow, Burnt Umber, and Primary Blue.
