David Allen complains that GTD apps lack a kind of "no leaks" feedback that lets you know what's wrong with the system: projects with no actions, things piling up in the inbox... We've always had this feature. Now we've improved it, adding more nudges and customization. And we've renamed it: Radar.

We've reworked and redesigned the Clarify process. In addition to the fundamental questions to clarify and organize each item, the system will remind you: 🔹That you assign contexts and choice criteria if it is a next action...

The calendar has become a first-class citizen in the new beta app. It has direct access from the menu, occupies all available space, and even allows you to capture events directly within it. #GTD #Calendar #FacileThings

We've added the Perspective Filter Tool, so the users can filter out their tasks by area of focus, personal/professional, goal and vision. The selected filter is displayed in the filter area so that it can be easily deactivated. #FacileThings #GTD #App

Just finished the Projects section of #FacileThings. It's the most complex one, since it allows kanban-style projects, sequential projects, and subprojects. We're about to launch the new app in beta stage 🤘 #buildinpublic

We've just finished the Engage option. This is where you choose your next task, based on your current context, available time, and energy level. Applying these filters narrows down your Next Actions list to a few tasks, making it easy to choose the most relevant one. #buildinpublic #GTD

1/5 FacileThings Beta is local-first. Your data lives on your device, not just in the cloud. That's great for speed and offline use, but it forces you to think carefully about what you actually sync. Too much local data can ruin UX for performance reasons. #buildinpublic #localfirst

In #GTD, clarifying is the moment when you think, decide, and transform everything your personal inbox into specific, actionable items. It's a mental process that gives you control by answering a series of questions. We've implemented the entire process in the new version of FacileThings:

We have managed to design a task editor in which all the information (text, notes, files, checklist, collaborators, due and start dates, tags, goal, project, focus area, choice criteria) fits on a screen as small as that of the iPhone SE. #facilethings #gtd #apps

It had been a while since I'd programmed using the concept of a finite state machine. In GTD, the process of clarifying the tasks you've captured follows a deterministic questioning algorithm that ends in six possibilities, so I decided to use an FSM.

In the end, I decided to build two different editors, since the task description and the notes need different functions: 🔹Task description needs mentions, tags, inline commands, links, etc. 🔹Notes need the typical functions of a text editor (bold, headings, subheadings, lists, etc.) #buildinpublic

Trying to make the Capture option as clean as possible. Now I need to include options for adding notes, attaching files, and associating checklists without them getting in the way when not needed 🤔 #buildinpublic

It took me longer than expected to develop the task editor, but I'm pretty happy with the result. It allows you to complete context tags and people names, use inline commands, and add emojis even when you're not using your phone. It also has a very accurate byte count 😅 #buildinpublic

And 4⃣ Go to the Calendar list to see what tasks you have assigned for tomorrow and anticipate what time slots you’ll have available for the remaining tasks.

2⃣ Process your Inbox completely using the Clarify option. This option guides you through the GTD flowchart, helping you decide what to do with each item efficiently. During this process, you will add context tags related to each action, so that your context lists are automatically updated.

In addition to dark mode, there's another tool that's becoming a must-have feature for any app: the search command. It allows users to navigate to any section or to any data using the keyboard, without needing to know all the navigation options or where the data is. Working on it! #buildinpublic

You know the Jobs To Be Done theory? It basically says that when we buy a product, we essentially hire something to get a job done. If it does the job well, when we are confronted with the same job, we hire that same product again. 🧵 #business #JTBD

Although there are many services that do this, I've always developed all the pages and business logic related to user authentication myself. I don't want to rely on an external service to allow my users to access the application. #buildinpublic #authentication

One of the things we're paying close attention to in the new app is responsive design. It's not just about scaling the content size to different breakpoints, as mobile and touchscreen usage patterns completely change. In fact, our design for small screens is completely different from the rest.
