I am going on a trip to Uzbekistan with my parents from the 17th to the 21nd. I worry a bit about a language barrier. I know English and Russian pretty well, so interpersonal communication should be fine, but notices and signboards may be written only in Uzbek, which I don't understand at all.

github.com/WebKit/WebKi... WebKit / Safari is closing the last gap between the spec and the implementation of Temporal. They were struggling with discrepancies in calendrical calculations of ICU across platforms and versions, but it seems they have resolved all issues. Very good news.

Migrating `Date`, moment.js, day.js, or Luxon to Temporal in chaotic codebase isn't straightforward. It's like a migration of terrible JavaScript code to TypeScript.

temporal-polyfill 🕒 1.0 is out! Smaller and with a tree-shakeable API that can be codemodded away. Great for component lib authors: tiny footprint now, zero footprint later, and shared internals with the host app's polyfill (if they choose to install it).

I ran Temporal tests in test262 against Node.js v26, and Node.js fails in 1.3 k files (6.8 k files in total) because behavior of non-ISO calendars is not spec-compliant.

Recently I knew Takumi, an alternative rendering engine to Satori. It seems that Takumi is generally better at multilingual support than Satori. Takumi can render complex scripts like Thai and Arabic properly, which Satori renders incorrectly or even can't render.
While Satori doesn't support font format of Noto Sans Arabic, Takumi renders Arabic correctly as well as browsers. While Satori can't render Thai script correctly, Takumi renders it correctly as well as browsers.
