Anxiety is so weird because an email can send me into a spiral but being inside an MRI machine, something I was repeatedly warned about re:anxiety, was one of the most relaxing times of my life. I almost fell asleep multiple times. My body craves the sci-fi tube. Put me back in the sci-fi tube.

The way burnout (aka Devour velvet, pic below) velvet works is you weave a velvet with a protein- or plastic-based backing (like silk or polyester) and a cellulose-based pile (usually cotton or rayon), then selectively dissolve away the pile to make patterns using a chemical like Fiber Etch. (4/7)

The way we weave velvet is actually super cool; two backs are laid face to face, the pile is woven between them, and then it's cut down the middle. This means you can have multiple fiber types in play, even without a blended weaving thread. (3/7)
