I do shit like Wasteland as a kind of investment in myself. Peeling off the layer of the year before, hoping to make or firm up connections and see how those play out over the future. Some reminder of fundamental humanity. But I was so broken this year, I couldnt fill my cup.

I aint gonna tell you what Ive been through unless we're close. And sadly the number of people I have for that has shrunken considerably, either out of respect for their space, death, or our relationship just falling apart. Shabbat was helpful this year, just meeting other sane Jews my age.

I ruminate. I hit a wall in therapy. My friends are so exhausted by their shit, they don't got energy for mine too. Which I dont blame them I mean, I find myself exhausting too. I'd like to find that chill mental space where existing can be enough on its own.

took a hit off this thing while at #wastelandweekend. Whatever it was made me sit down and cry about all the death and disappointment Ive faced this year at my friends. Like I needed to, but horrified cuz I hate sharing shit, knowing what others go thru. Stayed sober after that.

rather proud of how well my nail art manicure held up over #wastelandweekend mix gold polishes i own topped woth Scorned by Bee's Knee's Lacquer (the og cigarette stains polish). Gave my fingers a strong wasteland vibe while also protecting them from damage in the Mojave, roughing it.

Pester also painted the Trial of the Century. It ended by the judge determining neither Mr Privilege or The Real Mr Privilege counting as a whole human being, so they were united as one. Legally Mr P must bear The Real Mr P to have any right to his identity. The courtroom portraits are uncanny.

Survived another #WastelandWeekend Met a another raptor bone bearer. Witnessed the Mr Privilege/ The Real Mr Privilege identity trial. Threatened local radio into marketing my wares. Splendid time shedding the skin of the old world in the Mojave. Pester will return--but first, a shower.

They/them in tall boots and cargo shorts with a leather Deinonychus skull and tail vertebrae strapped on. They're getting a good look at Clatters, my tin can Velociraptor marionette.
Both are sized true to life lol. Hail "Raptor", most excellent outfit in the Wastes.

Mr Privilege arguing before a judge and jury that he has the right to the name Mr Privilege. The puppet--The Real Mr Privilege, a horrible monstrosity made of raw foam and human teeth--argues otherwise. The puppet's puppet lawyer is ineffective. The judge, mildly concerned. A taxidermy badger in a little hat "Bucky" is the puppet peer and witness of character (and also the new deputy sheriff of Wasteland yes really). It is difficult to tell the rich wasteland fuckbois apart.

Tech should expand on doing more cool things Like how I can use a website to do animation notes I can share with my team while working on a tablet in a whiskey tavern.

upping my game for Wasteland trade. I've done painted caps before, but never with gouache and watercolor. I got some watercolor ground Ive applied over gesso to create the appropriate surface.

bottle caps painted in multicolored gouache. Holes are punched through to allow for a key ring to pass through. Some have animal forms painted on top.

My next work in progress. I might bring a few of these abstract experiments with me to Wasteland Weekend for trade, if anybody else is going and wants the least machine learning friendly pieces I can muster.

I loved doing nail art as a wee kiddo. I used to paint the other kids' nails with dif designs at daycare. So fun. But then the lil boys stopped wanting it. :( so i stopped doing it. Finding guys online into nail art reinvigorated my interest. Bless artsy dudes inventing their own gender norms.

An intense sense of doom stalks me. It alleviates in others' company, but not for long. It waits for any momentary weakness to overwhelm me again and steal another decade while everyone else lives a real life. Leaving me once again to mourn a future I'll never have. (some moody sketches)
