I wonder if I should start a new account for a different art style. I abandoned Visual Development years ago when I failed to get into the animation industry but I want to get back into it.

In this period of time filled with AI stupidity, let's celebrate those we are not celebrating enough: Art supporters, Art commissioners THANK YOU! Thanks to YOU, many artists can do what they do the best and keep being productive but most importantly Artists can LIVE!

This year I want to finish many abandoned WIP’s I’ve posted and see how much I’ve improved now that I can finish them.

Drawing chibi style looks deceptively simple but it’s hard! I haven’t managed to draw a good looking chibi style character yet. I’ll try again! がんばります！

Even looking for cute food references to paint is kind of difficult now with all the AI generated results among actual food, specially desserts.

I feel like most YouTube art videos now are mentality-based to make people feel inspired, which is ok but what happened to actionable art advice I can put to the test? Art tutorials tend to be older videos. TikTok has some solid tuts but they’re often short, surface level content.

I'm so delighted that there will be a new Katamari game. I want to make some katamari and some pikmin art soon!

Pros and Cons of getting commissions: Pros: I get to level up my art skills with various challenges and financial help to keep drawing while getting very personal appreciation for my art and skills. Cons: I don't have much time to spend on personal art and social media content. #vgen #commissions

I tried keeping it as simple as posible. It’s more challenging than it looks. I admire artists that can keep drawings with minimal shading and detail and manage to make their art look super clean, interesting and effortless.

With AI art everywhere, almost nothing in art is viewed as ‘cheating’ anymore if it’s not ai art or tracing other people’s art and claiming it as your own. Reference? It’s ok. Using 3D or photographs? Go for it. Mixing media? Cool. Somewhat of a silver lining. Those random rules stunted artists.
