So I basically spent the week resting and playing the newest Lego Batman. I 100%ed it and gotten all of the achievements for the base game... Very fun game but the grapple hook made me very mad a couple times while doing the time trials.

Little Chaotic Magica Riot N64 Demo Update!! I switched Linux distro again!!! I still haven't discovered why the animations are causing the game to crash!! I got an 8BitDo 64 controller so I can test controller bindings better!!

Slight Control Resonant spoilers!! I don't even really like dogs but every time I saw that dog I had to go get her toy immediately!!

I'm still reading Children of Dune. I've been getting through it slowly cause I've been pretty tired the last few weeks and I think all the perspective switching has been getting me pretty fatigued. I'm still really enjoying it and just got to this epigraph which imo people should read!!

Found this spider in my bathtub. Think this is one of the biggest spiders I've seen in my country!!! Don't know where they came from cause all of my windows and stuff are closed but they somehow got into the bathroom. Also yes we don't have big spiders in Ireland, or any big bugs or arachnids.

My hand on the left with the spider about an inch and a half in diameter including it's legs inside an upturned glass on a advertisement leaflet.

Speaking of which The Vault now looks a little different! I felt it needed some colour as the grey concrete was just annoying me so the floor now has a kinda purple carpet and the ceiling has clearer lighting from it.

If he has a health bar it should be something like this from Project Zomboid. It should be telling you how damaged parts of his body are. They should be constantly healing at a set rate too so damage is a factor but not the only factor and so you can stay true to the character.

Spent the day putting all my framed prints up on my wall finally!! They've been sitting in a corner of my room for almost 2 years now.

This would cut down on the size but not the texture amount. Something else I could do to make the smaller is use that right side for another face and allow 2 girls to share a texture. The only one that really needs they're own texture atm is Bloom but I could still make hers smaller.

1) Making them smaller! Square textures are pretty standard in games and animation but they aren't actually necessary. This is Nova's current face and skin texture. You can see the whole right side is basically blank so I could get rid of it and make it a 32x16 texture halving the size.

So the first screenshot is a 16x16 intensity 4-bit texture and the second is a 32x32 colour indexed 4-bit texture. Intensity textures are black and white textures that can then be multiplied by colours all but the face and skin textures use this technique.

Magica Riot N64 Fan Demo Update!! Worked on some models to decorate the main level! I then ran into TMEM issues because of the amount of textures and how big some are! So then I worked on optimising some textures! Still got lots to do optimisation wise though!

Little update on this cause Bluesky died until now. This is what my toe looks like now. It still hurts a lot, I don't know why but my phones camera likes making the bruise look not as bad as it actually is. Also yes I cropped the shit out of it cause I don't want to post full feet pics.

Magica Riot N64 Fan Demo Update! Did a good bit today! Added proper textures to the main level! Added the other girls around the place so Claire isn't lonely! Got the camera to rotate around Claire when locking onto an enemy and it now lerps instead of snaps between enemies!

Magica Riot N64 Fan Demo Update! Claire can now lock onto enemies!! You can also cycle between enemies! There's still some small issue with the camera not rotating around her when locked on instead it'll stay where it is relative to her and just point at the locked on enemy.

This is the level I did a quick outline of too. It's the Clarion Room where Claire goes to see Magica Riot at the beginning of the book! This is very subject to change too as I'm still deciding how I want the level to work as I'm hoping to use it as a basic movement tutorial.

Magica Riot N64 Fan Demo Update! I spent the day recoding the character controller again! There's a couple things that are a little broken but I have more things working now so it's worth it imo. Biggest thing is movement is tied to the camera again! Jumping and the camera controls work now too!

I tried seeing if I could disable the diagnostic check in the bios and I can't do that either. Another thing I found is the battery is pretty swollen. I decided against putting it back into the laptop so need to get a new one. So I technically just have a ticking time bomb on my desk now lol.
