--found at the start of each volume, specifically the ones below. Think of these as the "out-of-frame" scenarios in those scenes. I also tried to match the color and mood for each of them, so it might look way brighter than my usual work. It's been a while since I drew chibis so I'm a little rusty.🥲

As always, things started going downhill once I started coloring it in. I might go back to this at some point in the future. It's too nice of a concept to leave like this. ;;

Hello! I haven't updated here in a while. It's been a busy season for me at work and barely had time to do hobby stuff. I already rarely post on my regular social media accounts as it is, so my niche accounts (like this one) have fallen by the wayside. Sorry about that!

Retail Restock Season (read: work) is hitting particularly hard this year so sadly, I don't think I'll have time to complete Fafa before Sunday. :( I will still continue to work on him when I have the time, though.

Do you post photos/video here? You should "subscribe" to this list that auto-blocks content scraping accounts that steal content and regularly post it without credit. The fewer eyes they have on them, the less power they have (and thus the more original content we'll see). bsky.app/profile/did:...

Perhaps you can try lining the string, too? Just the parts that will touch the face. The simplest I can think of to use are those thin 2 mm ribbons. Unfortunately dyes are so pervasive these days that it's fair to just treat all textiles with suspicion 😅

010

Maria 🦋🦷🥀 @exuviaaa.bsky.social · 18/10/2024

Prototyping an eyeball for Fafa. It's so tiny. About 6.5 mm dia for the whole eyeball, while typical SD-sized eyes are usually around 14-16 mm dia. Wish me luck with painting on the details! There's still so much to do 🥲 #bjd #bjdcrafting

A blank bjd head that I plan on turning into Hua Cheng

Maria 🦋🦷🥀 @exuviaaa.bsky.social · 18/10/2024

Are you gonna use leather/pleather for the eye patch? Cause those unfortunately use dyes and can also cause bleeding into the resin. A safer bet would be to use a light-colored fabric as an inner lining to protect the resin surface that will touch the eye patch. :)

Maria 🦋🦷🥀 @exuviaaa.bsky.social · 18/10/2024

Is it just the sealant that will be affected? If that's the case, you can just spray it again with a coat of MSC. It won't affect the underlying layers and would just reseal the whole thing. Just make sure the humidity isn't too high when you do it, cause MSC frosts when that happens.

110

Maria 🦋🦷🥀 @exuviaaa.bsky.social · 18/10/2024

That really does happen with dark fabrics in general so it's advisable to not have them wear dark clothes for too long. If the stain is in an inconspicuous spot, you can lightly scrub over it with a magic eraser. Though if it touches a painted part (like the eyebrow) it might be safer to leave it be

Fun story about this: he actually didn't have hands in this photo. I was in the process of blushing them and was waiting for the sealant to dry when I noticed that the ribbon I used to tie to the s-hooks to easily grab hold of them looked like Ruoye so I took a couple of quick photos. ✨

Ah! I just woke up. Thank you for tagging, and congratulations on the 2K! You were also one of the first people I followed in here when I made my account a while back. I'm Maria. I'm a jeweller who recently picked digital art back up as I got myself into danmei and couldn't resist making fanart.

ferret!Xie Lian and fox!Hua Cheng sticker that I'll be giving away at an upcoming tgcf fan event

Xie Lian as a flowering statue... something. Unfortunately learned after I made this that the art (and its artist) this was based on was A👁️ positive. But I still like this. It was my first foray into painting after a very long time and I plan on redoing this idea (in a completely different pose) at some point in the future.

A 1/6 scale ball-jointed doll that I'm in the process of customizing into Xie Lian. I made his wig and did his face-up in this picture. I will be making more clothes and props for him, too--ones that are more in-line with some of his portrayals in other adaptations (mainly the manhua).

I'm also gonna customize another doll into Fafa soon. He's still blank, though, so I don't have any good pictures of him yet.

Hello, Bluesky. I am new here. Decided to check out this place as the state of the other app is getting rather sad. This account will most likely be another danmei brainrot space but might also have the occasional life update, too. 🦋
