My experience is limited with primary. I would assume that little ones are allowed to just play, but I’m clearly mistaken. The accountability for hitting ‘learning’ targets seems to out weigh play. Which is a massive shame.

I agree, but also think it has a lot to do with location. I picked my granddaughter up from reception at a school in a small town on the countryside. The amount of playground space was enormous compared to the higher form entry school my kids went to in the city

I know that feeling. I left and haven’t regretted my decision once. I tried ‘nicer’ and ‘better’ schools but I found it was the system not the school. Take care of yourself this term
