But God, — whom I don't believe in — God knows that nobody is gonna love or desire me. He made sure of that. Fuck God.

Can anyone explain why so many Germans seem to have zero spatial self-awareness? Like — standing in the middle of narrow passages, blocking sidewalks or doorways, getting stuck in crowded spaces, standing 2 cm from someone doing an exercise at the gym, etc. Is this cultural, or am I just unlucky?

Creating new content is an act of moral depravity. All bloggers and influencers should be gently escorted off the digital stage — preferably into a volcano — for their tireless efforts in cluttering the information ecosystem, manufacturing noise, and hijacking our attention with artisanal nonsense.

Meanwhile, Eastern philosophy has been saving me my whole life, helping me crawl through this hell and the puddles of shit and vomit every fucking day.

As someone who grew up interested in both Western and Eastern philosophies, I can say that Western philosophy never helped me in life. On the contrary, it only boosted my overthinking, disconnected me from my feelings and my body, and contributed to my collection of mental issues.

Americans think their democracy is indestructible… well, surprise! Nothing is indestructible.

They think, “Why protest if the courts or members of Congress will take care of everything?” But democratic institutions only function as long as everyone is willing to play by the rules—and right now, Trump couldn’t care less about them.

It’s still deeply unsettling how Americans are offering no resistance to the rapid transformation of their country into a dictatorship. Perhaps this is a side effect of democracy—people place too much faith in democratic institutions.

It’s so funny to me that Germans consider the CDU a democratic party. They think the right wing is fine as long as it covers up its fascism a little. The right only starts to bother people when right-wingers begin quoting Hitler—like some AfD leaders do.

Now dictatorship has come to America. And Americans aren’t doing shit. Many haven’t even realized it yet. Shocking, truly. Do I feel sorry for them? No. I hope they get everything they wished upon people like me.

Americans arrogantly lectured me about collateral damage and collective responsibility. They told me people like me were to blame—for failing to overthrow a dictatorship. I was a terrified refugee barely surviving, with nowhere to go, and they enjoyed it like it was some kind of TV show.

I’m from Russia. When I fled Russia in 2022, I had to move between visa-free countries with almost no money or survival plan. I was basically internationally homeless. All my bank cards were blocked due to Western sanctions. Back then, Americans on Twitter were happy and wrote me spiteful comments.

I had no illusions about Germans. I didn't expect to make friends with them (they don’t like migrants, lol; my German neighbors don't even say hello to me). But I thought I could at least make friends with other immigrants... Surprise! Even people from the Global South become closed off here.

I absolutely hate Germany. Moving here was the biggest mistake of my life. The worst part is the cold and soulless people who live here. I have never felt so lonely. I'm living in total isolation. I have absolutely no one to talk to. It's impossible to make friends or even acquaintances here.

Thanksgiving Today is a special day for Americans: They gather with their entire family to eat a dry turkey and thank the Lord for invading someone else's land, killing almost all of the local inhabitants, and then living happily ever after.

so yes, while I think the medical system here is far from perfect, I think the American system is far worse and simply inhumane.

Like, a friend of a my friend got leukemia. Germany paid €2,000,000 for his treatment. He is not even a German citizen, he is a refugee from Ukraine.
110
Queer Soul in Exile @exilequeer.bsky.social · 23/11/2024
No matter how much your medicine costs, you will not pay more than 10 euros for it (insurance will cover the rest). If you get cancer and your treatment costs millions of euros, the state pays for everything. You can't die or go bankrupt just because you don't have money for treatment.

Queer Soul in Exile @exilequeer.bsky.social · 23/11/2024
Well, I’d be afraid to live in the U.S., frankly. Yes, there are not enough doctors in Germany and usually you wait a long time for an apoitment. But in Germany you have insurance that covers just about everything (even if you currently unemployed can't pay for insurance by yourself)

In December, I'm going to see a psychiatrist that I miraculously got an appointment with. he allocates 15 minutes per patient. and you wait months for one appointment. this health care system is a fake. it doesn't fulfill its stated functions.

Queer Soul in Exile @exilequeer.bsky.social · 22/11/2024
I live in germany and there is a big shortage of doctors here. my GP sees a new patient every 10 minutes. of course, he has neither the time, nor the ability, nor the desire to look deeply into each patient's case.

Queer Soul in Exile @exilequeer.bsky.social · 22/11/2024
It's funny, because I literally did my own research, went to my GP and asked for a prescription for this particular medication. Basically, I prescribed bupropion/wellbutrin for myself.

maybe it's about growing tolerance to the drug? like the brain adapts to the constant presence of the drug by changing the sensitivity of norepinephrine and dopamine receptors ah, I'm so tired

Queer Soul in Exile @exilequeer.bsky.social · 22/11/2024
Well, i’m taking it. But it's all about individual cases. If medication works great for someone else, it may not work for you. And vice versa.

It’s not! it's an atypical antidepressant that doesn't affect serotonin. I have always felt horrible on SSRI antidepressants Bupropion (wellbutrin) didn't solve all my problems, but it's the first antidepressant that I've had zero side effects from

When people say "just see a doctor", they ignore systemic contexts: discrimination, economic precarity, family dynamics, societal pressures Depression isn't just a brain problem, but a complex interaction between human and environment. Pills can't solve everything. And sometimes they make it worse.
010
Queer Soul in Exile @exilequeer.bsky.social · 22/11/2024
Psychiatry feels like throwing darts blindfolded. Diagnoses via subjective talks, treatments as pure guesswork. The core lie? Depression as an isolated state in a 'sick individual'. Humans aren't mere "subjects", but part of the world. They can't be detached from political and economic realities.

Queer Soul in Exile @exilequeer.bsky.social · 22/11/2024
Mental health isn't a simple "just take pills" solution. For many, it's a painful lifetime trip. A marathon of pharmaceutical roulette. Years of failed meds, endless doctor visits - trying everything, only to end up where you started. It's not a quick fix, but a grueling, hopeless odyssey.
