Loving the refreshed look on my PSP with the aftermarket keys for some contrast. Not sure I'm loving the need for high-contrast buttons at my age. Always good to fire up Gran Turismo, though.
A Sony PlayStation Portable, with aftermarket high-contrast buttons fitted, playing Gran Turismo.

Many years ago, at O'Reilly ETech conference, there was a game of Werewolf. I decided to play 'the crazy villager' and just disrupt everything with incorrect logic and statements. Can't think why it's come to mind this morning... (tagging @kevinmarks.com @suw.bsky.social who I think were there?)
Richard E Grant, seen here, is going to have "I'ma traitor" following him for the rest of his life.

This week's album going on heavy rotation in the cassette player is going to be Smokie's Greatest Hits. Wow and flutter, limited frequency bands, the basic paper speaker cone in the cassette player door... All the formative sounds of my music right there. Lets crank it up until it distorts

What scene makes you emotional no matter how many times you see it? "You stay. I go. No following."

Callie and Kelday, the newly rescued chaos cats, had a few matts of hair. So, err, some help was needed.
Callie (a black tortie cat) is in the process of being groomed. There is a pile of cat hair in front of her that looks to be the same size as Callie.

Meet Kelda and Callie, the new Chaos Demons, who are coming to stay with us. Amazingly, given their size, they are six years old. Callie (the darker floof) is a quiet and systematic explorer and will head-bump all the time. Kelda (tortie floof) is tiny and has two speeds “full on” and “sleeping.”
A scraggly black tortoishell called Kelda (l) and a slightly more serene chocolate tortoiseshell called Callie (r) trying to be a crown on their owner's head.

It has to be a personal choice on a question like this, and while there's a lot to choose from(when you had to borrow cassette tapes from the local library in the 80s, Greatest Hits were really good picks) I'm going with one I owned then and now. The Shadows.

Today will mostly be giggling at the reminder that the lost legends of classic Star Trek being mythologised includes 'Spock's Brain'
A still from Star Trek: Spock's brain. Kirk is looking at what appears to be a fourth-wall breaking 'hippie' as a Spock wtih no brain is remote controlled by McCoy.

Jimmy Fallon might not be in my top tier of late-night hosts, but he was a breath of fresh air in corporate presentations at 2025's Made By Google. There was a lesson there that I'm not sure was learned by the industry.
Jimmy Fallon with some phones. He's no Johnny Carson, but he's a vast improvement at presenting phones ot the public than your average Megacorp Product Development Office.

Maybe it thinks you are under 16 and you are using the review/comment section as a social network? Try playing some government-approved music instead of that filthy rock and roll you smuggled in on an x-ray photo.

It's already happening, and it's called Ludwig. At the end of Season 2, David Mitchell heads to the countryside, hikes into a quarry, where a saggy old blue box, baggy and a bit loose at the seams, is waiting for him.
A quarry! A box! It's Doctor Who's Destiny of the Daleks on location!

Lindsay Buckingham's very light bridge in The Chain. The tension, the expectation, knowing that John McVie is about to drop *that* bass line . And then it drops.
Definitly not Bucjingham and McVie - it's Moss and Clark enjoying the beat at an F1 race.

The postie has delivered this week's "one old, one new" music cassettes. There's something delightfully teenage about a crackly, stretched, well-worn copy of Bat Out Of Hell. Meanwhile, Jazz Sabbath is just a pitch-perfect origin story for the music; Paranoid is built to be a nine-minute noodle.
Two audio cassette boxes, on the left, with the cassette on show, is "Jazz Sabbath Live" an on the right, still boxed, is Bat Out Of Hell.

Okay, so #Cairn is a fekkin' awesome game (summary: just climb the damn mountain, one hold at a time) but I have never felt so much anxiety, vertigo, panic, and release while gaming in a very long time. For those who've played, I've just managed the crystal climb and ... oooft that was a *moment*

One of the I'm getting all sorts of emotions and memories coming back up as I work through some old cassettes. The specific pops, breaks, jumps and 'Absolute Beginners can *only* be followed by Living Doll because Kid Jensen' are all really powerful. Don't say music can't move you.
