One can also critique the inherent machismo of the setting, its treatment of women in artwork and side content, its exhalting of monarchy and catholic messiah figures, its very moralizing tone, etc. But we should critique it as critics OF the setting rather than IN the setting.

Yes, treatment of trolls, pandaren, tauren, goblins, draenei and others are rooted in the writer's politics and perception of the ethnic groups they're based on. Yes, it is odd how the setting itself is supposed to portray neutrality YET they obviously villainize certain groups and beliefs.
