Bluesky has four kinds of nudity / sexy filter. It has no filter for violence except as a subset of "adult" content which also includes "explicit" media. Bluesky needs to grow up (i.e. stop being such prudes). And it needs a legitimate violence filter as opposed to this shit. (And an edit button.)

I think the last laptop I had with an HDD activity light was manufactured more than 20 years ago. I've set a 90 minute timer.

Quick diagnosis: When to wait and when to act

Normal small updates: 5–30 minutes on modern hardware.
Major feature updates: 30–90 minutes is common on many systems, but can be longer depending on CPU, disk, and network. Microsoft data and subsequent reporting show some devices may need several connected hours to finish updates. Do not panic if a large update is slow, but do look for signs of activity.

Only intervene when:

The percentage hasn’t changed for 2+ hours, and
The loading spinner is completely stopped, and
Disk activity LED (if present) is idle for an extended time.

If the indicator continues moving slowly or disk/CPU activity is visible, give Windows more time. If you’re unsure, waiting another 30–60 minutes is often safer than interrupting a live update that’s still making progress.

Since we've got such a paltry character limit here, here's something I wrote elsewhere on Bluesky's recent bullshit.

After wide scale backlash to #Bluesky 's recent bullshit, they've walked back their thing.

They were poorly applying account labels to accounts they had programmatically identified as being "adult" and thus hiding even perfectly mundane messages from accounts. In some cases, these accounts had either never posted any adult material or had posted a pretty innocuous butt image a single time in the account's history.

I often joke that Bluesky is always inventing new forms of nudity, making me have to go turn off moderation features on a regular basis.

While they have rolled this back for now, it's plenty clear that adult creators aren't welcome on their platform and they would like to at least shadow ban us if they can.

Below this is a screenshot showing two messages in a thread from BlueSky safety:

We’ve received questions from users about recent changes to the way the app handles account-level moderation labels. The goal of these changes was to reduce accidental exposure of adult content to minors and those who opt out of this content in their personal moderation settings.

It’s clear these changes missed the mark, so we’re rolling them back. We’ll be working on a solution that better balances the varying needs of all our users and will provide more information before we roll out additional changes.
