I wish there was a watch like this Casio but the buttons connect to home assistant via thread or ZigBee or whatever.

@anatosaurus.bsky.social speaking of misinformation, i don't know if I've seen a source for this. This graphic has been going around for a few days but it ends October 15th. I want this to be true, and I think many others do, but we need to do better.

Ever since I realized that Sim City Classic was released as open source (under the name Micropolis) I wanted to do this. I hope people like it! Lets see if the little raspberry pi can stand some concurrency

Been thinking about this project for probably almost 20 years and a few years ago tried & failed to build this. Tried again with AI and actually got it working. globalcity.evertpot.com

Doing some Google Cloud stuff after years of mostly AWS. Seems like their UI has gotten a bit better! AWS is still terrible, but GCP used to be worse.

Is it just me or is the full-disk encryption experience on Linux (mainly Fedora for me) really bad? It doesn't say if the password was wrong, it just hangs if you got it wrong n times with no further feedback. This is LUKS which seems to be the default path for encryption. I've also used […]

Out of the 10 companies on my resume, 4 still exist today. Only 1 has outlived my personal blog. It's nice to have a permanent record there of what I've been thinking/working on over the years because mostly all my commercial work has disappeared.

@Rairii @Li most devs don't read every file in an `npm install` either. Arguably downloading a script from a https:// source of a domain you know is more safe here.
