Been thinking about this project for probably almost 20 years and a few years ago tried & failed to build this. Tried again with AI and actually got it working. globalcity.evertpot.com

Gopher client / HTTP Proxy update! This is probably as far as I'm gonna take this for now. If people care, I might add search support or try to do some ports to native desktop clients, but we'll see. burrow.din.gy #GopherProtocol #gopher #retrocomputing

Yesterday we saw the most _new_ NPM packages being released in the last 12 months, at 2804 packages. Pretty steady upward trajectory here, unlike we've ever seen. This graph is spiky because it's daily data and weekends are lower.

Some progress this weekend from my new Gopher client. Might do a Gnome port at some point. Not a fan of the design inside the main frame yet, so most of my creative effort will go there next #gopherprotocol

This is on a Dell Wyse 5090 'Extended' thin client, which is my favourite system right now and will be my main media server at home. You can pick it up for $50 on ebay, and runs 5 Watt idle. Check out these ports though!

This screenshot is from the CRA (Canadian Tax). I feel the "Secure' label teaches users to blindly trust that image when it appears elsewhere. What's the point of it?

Pop-oiver with a speech bubble and a label that says "Chat with the CRA". Under that label it says "Secure" in a yellow banner, with a shield icon containing a checkmark.

Now have my record player hooked up to my traktor mixer and controlled via pipewire / helvium so I can listen to prog rock on my headphones while working but dont have to switch out anything for calls. Completely overkill setup but I had the equipment so why not wire it all up

I think Linux is ahead of WIndows and Mac in terms of the Audio system (pipewire). It's so fun to use. Good defaults, but you can pop open the hood and go wild with directing audio.

i know some of y'all are eager to get an update on this quest. I get crashes once or twice per day still, but still no data. So I'm resorting to running `smem` every 30 seconds and writing to a log. If I crash again we'll know it's a memory issue and hopefully which process did it.
