Anyone ever start to get sick on a Friday evening and don't feel better until Monday morning? What's up with that timing!

It's getting to the point where I'll need reading glasses to do my nails pretty soon. Just in time for my 44th.

I took my dog to the vet for her annual shots yesterday. And some antibiotics for a skin infection. The total bill was almost $800. Pet ownership truly is a privilege.

We had a lot of rain this morning on top of recent super high "king tides" so streets are flooded everywhere east of me. I'm glad I don't live any closer to the beach. I put some videos on my PeerTube channel of the situation this past weekend. Full moon was on Saturday.

It's Friday, it's fall. The days are getting shorter and we're waiting for the first cold front of the season to make its way down here. Nice out #today I went for my morning bike ride on the beach. Super high tides, water on the broadwalk. Tomorrow is a full moon.

Just made a vet appointment for our dog's annual shots. It's been a year already since we got her out of the county shelter. As a childless person, sometimes I feel like I experience the passing of time differently, or less intensely. Nothing has changed all that much in the past year. My […]

I ordered myself a birthday present and it arrived #today. I opened it to make sure it wasn't damaged in shipping. Then I charged it to make sure the battery is good. And then I played around with it a bunch to make sure it is functional. Will I put it back in the box for a couple of weeks […]

Feeling much better #today after catching up on sleep. Team meeting at work was partially derailed by chatting about gaming. Servers are slow, update this weekend hopefully will help.

Eva @eva.mindly.social.ap.brid.gy · 14/09/2026

Back to work #today and it's going to be a tough one because I feel like I barely slept last night. Maybe TMI, but as many women know, 'period insomnia' is a real thing.

Just watched the original "Matrix" movie that I hadn't seen in many years. I remember when it first came out, I wanted Trinity's haircut. The movie overall has aged well, maybe too well. What if 1999 really was the peak of human civilization?

I hear some kids these days are buying digital cameras again. I love that! I still have and occasionally use my Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 I got for Christmas in 2010. This camera has been through a lot, multiple overseas trips, been dropped a few times and has […] [Original post on mindly.social]

Back to work #today after the long weekend. I'm tired from three days of long bikes and ready to sit on my butt and hopefully be productive.

I'll be 44 next month and I'll have to change my bio.

Happy Labor Day! I enjoyed a day of not laboring #today. Rode my bike to the beach, it was very hot and crowded. The water looked nice and calm, lots of people were in enjoying it.

Rainy morning #today. No walk, just playing indoors with my dog. Hope it's enough to keep her happy during my workday. We'll try to make it around the block at lunch time.

Another weekend gone, another Monday is here. I went for long bike rides both Saturday and Sunday, dodging the rains that came through. Called my dad, which I neglected to do for a couple of weeks. Unlike my late mom, he never mastered texting. We had the usual chat about the weather and his […]

I did happen to wake up at 12:15 AM last night (this morning I should say) and remembered the lunar eclipse was happening. My husband and dog both joined me and we stepped outside and looked up. Got a pretty nice view of the big red moon overhead. No pics though.

#3GoodThings yesterday: 1. Bike shop adjusted my rear wheel hub free of charge 2. Visited a new thrift store and got John Mellencamp's greatest hits CD for $1 3. Uploaded my first 'real' video to PeerTube

Great success! New #bicycle stand installed. I had to use some of the hardware from the old one because the screw that came with it was too short for my mounting plate. Also had to improvise a bit and add a spacer so the new stand doesn't touch the rear tire […] [Original post on mindly.social]

The same bicycle now upright with the new center stand in place. The two-legged kickstand holds the rear wheel several inches off the ground.

My new bicycle center stand arrived #today sooner than expected. I can't wait to install it. My bike fell over one too many times because my old kickstand is not sturdy enough.

I bought a decent second-hand PC over three years ago and because it's a full size tower, it's been easy to make upgrades as needed. This week, it wouldn't boot and I thought it was the end, either the power supply or motherboard must have died. Well, turns out all it needed was to have its RAM […]

Woke up to a water leak in my bathroom! Thankfully turned out to the be simplest possible thing to fix, the bidet attachment. Uninstalled it, didn't have to call a plumber, cleaned up, and got a full refund from Amazon because we bought this thing less than a year ago (by 3 weeks!) Good morning!

My #SummerGameChallenge is going well but also not. I'm an extremely slow gamer. Been playing Pokemon Red almost every day but only 30 minutes to an hour at a time. If this it the only game I finish by Labor Day I'll still be pleased.

It would be so funny if Three Lions charted again this year. The time since that song came out is now equal to how long ago the 1966 cup was then.

#3GoodThings #today (or yesterday) 1. USA made it to the round of 16 and I got a free beer at the pub last night 2. I've had enough coffee to get into gear this morning for work 3. I have tomorrow off because the 4th of July falls on a Saturday

Little slow to get going this morning after partying last night with the local U.S. soccer fans. What a crowd, what a game! #fifaworldcup Might need to put on a second pot of #coffee to make it through the workday. The good news is I have tomorrow off so #today is like a Friday for me.

Dog let me sleep in until 8 am this morning. Coffee is delicious. Going to be another hot hot day out there. Not a lot of plans #today. Thrift shopping, watch the soccer in the afternoon, maybe an evening bike ride if I'm not too lazy.

I'm watching New Zealand vs. Egypt on Telemundo. Unfortunately, I don't understand much Spanish at all, it's mostly background noise and emotion to me. But one of the announcers just said "Happy Father's Day" in English.

Since I had the day off today, I bicycled down to the local pub to watch the USA - Australia match this afternoon. It was packed with fans and a great atmosphere. Standing room only on the patio (I didn't even try to make it inside), big screens and free beer (after I bought the first one for […]

Finally a little breeze on our walk #today. Now hoping for rain to put out those wildfires west of here. Although the smoke in the air does make for colorful sunsets.

I was reflecting #today what a privilege it is to work from home and have a dog. The morning and evening hours I used to risk my life on the highway are now spent taking walks around the neighborhood. I'm so very grateful.

I had a great lazy weekend watching sports, cooking and baking, eating and drinking. Now it's back to work but it's a 4 day week for me because Friday is Juneteenth. Rain was forecast but it missed us. We saw dark clouds out west and heard rumbling last night but only a few drops reached us […]
