So. Whenever I engage a Brit who truly still believes that they were the best thing that ever happened to the EU, in the end I always get blocked. I call this a win ;)

I think this song from 1984 still sums up the world we live in now. It applies to all of us now.

Oh jottem. Goedenavond Nederland is weer begonnen. (Antwoord: nee).

So it seems, this happened on Cyprus National tv yesterday. Hilarous!

Now, has everyone recovered from this? Or do you need more time?

Eurovision 2027: half the songs will have a violin in it. I blame Nocturne, this instrument should have been forbidden after that.

We have now gotten to a point when you try to explain why you don't really get the Finnish entry in Eurovision this year, being very polite to the artists, part of the fandom can only answer with personal insults? Oh well, here's my Top Ten. Finland is not in it 🙃

Not the best Eurovision year ever, but I still enjoy some songs. A lot can still change, but this is my Top Ten so far ...

For those who still don't understand how Europe works, this is it. Does this mean broadcasters from these green countries are morally corrupt, or is there more nuance?

Beschamend.

This is what an extensive discussion with a UK re-joiner can lead to. They basically can't handle any other opinion than their own. A block. I do support their campaign, but if they can't even handle little me as a voice supporting EU unity, I wish them the best of luck. #delulu

'Europeans like you' is just peak UK exceptionalism in my book. In context, I just wondered if those in the UK who want to join the EU again would agree to do so without any opt-outs. A simple question. Never a clear answer.

Just putting this out here. The US are a weird country, with so much recent history. This song is one of those examples. Pure joy and beauty.

This song never got a chance in 2020. I think it's still a beautiful ballad from The Netherlands. And I hope one day we'll stage a song like this again. One lead vocalist, and five on stage backing vocals.

There is something very satisfying in remixing the sound of 1976. The guy doing the radio stereo mix probably had no clue which voice should go left or right of the stereo mix. So for this one, I kept the orchestra as the original mix, but swapped the stereo field of the vocals.

This is nonsense. The path to joining the EU is written down clearly in both the treaty of Maastricht and Lisbon. The UK government would simply have to apply to get things into motion. Please, stop blaming other nations because of the mistakes the UK has made. We live under those treaties.

Within the context of ESC, how did we never mention this when it actually happened, with mostly all EBU countries being a part of this? Not as if we didn't care, we were just terrified about terrorism at the time. For my generation Eurovision used to be an escape through music. As it still is for me

So. It's been an interesting week. Many users won't resonate with a world view that is not their own. Not sure if it has ever been this way. But I've been around for quite a while now, half a century, and finding it it quite irritating being corrected by snotnosed people who don't get my history?
