I am attempting to walk 3 miles a day (minimum) every day in October. Today's walk was good. I am rubbish at these challenges. Wish me luck! (or better still, DM me asking how I'm doing!)

My neighbour also has 9 cats, and also has zero time for anything else :)

You know you can turn off wifi at home, right? Save the air fare. My version of this (having no need to fly anywhere) is a coffee shop, headphones, and time.

I'm not sure. With all the AI stuff happening and concerns that it will destroy humanity, I feel like we're living in a Sci-Fi story from the 1970s.

@chattr.online has reached over 200 users now, and it's easily going to reach 300 by the end of this month. I'm genuinely so excited to see where the platform I have built goes. If you're a Twitch user, then please check it out and sign up if you're interested!

What an utterly dreadful circuit Madring is. Processional racing, decided by a dodgy VSC decision. How, in this day of huge cars and efficienct aerodynamics, did that circuit design get past scrutineering? (I know the answer, it's €€€€€€€).

Happy 909 day! Here's a 909 treat for you: LFO - LFO (Leeds Warehouse Mix). Fun fact - this didn't actually use a 909 drum machine. The beat is sampled from Simon Harris' "Beats, Breaks, and Scratches Vol 1".

The more I work on my side project the more excited I am getting about it. It's my most ambitious to date, involves one of my passions, and has potential to be a lot of ̶w̶o̶r̶k̶ fun.

Ever add a personal scratch file to .gitignore just to keep git status clean? 👀 Don't change the shared .gitignore for something only you need. Use .git/info/exclude instead. Same ignore syntax. Local to your clone. Never committed.

Got caught out by a small nuance with Laravel's scheduler yesterday. By default, scheduled tasks don't run in maintenance mode unless you specifically enable them.

Perl, then PHP (V3, this was 1998), then bespoke projects until 2006 when Zend 1 came out. Built projects on Zend, Symfony, Cake, and a couple of custom in-house frameworks before diving into Laravel in 2014.

Printed media was the only way I learned. Started with the manual that came with the Vic20, then magazines, then library books, then books bought from bookshops (these were very thick and heavy). I remember the 'Sam's Teach Yourself X in 24h/30 daysc series very well.

People think a project is "done" when it goes live but personally I think a project is done when someone logs in six months later and realizes they've forgotten what the old system even felt like 🎉

I truly believe there would be more American F1 Champions if the USA focussed on the world stage rather than the domestic. IndyCar is great and all that, but its not worldwide. Its not like they don't have the money.

When reading a detailed piece of content for a complex topic, something that's quite long, how do you prefer to consume it? One big long page, or broken up into chunks? I'm not convinced the article format is working, especially with the #multitenancy stuff I'm writing.
