While the 1990 Japanese animations are dear to me (I know the theme song by heart), I hope you will have a look at the late 70's Polish stop-motion animations. Or at least the Comet Chase from 2010 which was based on those animations, and has music by Björk, and a spectacular voice cast.

It would probably need a bigger motor for that, but the Microlino and Mobilize can do 90 km/h, which sounds scary. The Mobilize Bento microvan looks, distinctive.
