A spectacular unnamed eucalypt species restricted to eastern Cape York Peninsula in Queensland. These photos were all taken near Elim Beach, where it grows on massive, vegetated sand dunes, as a large tree in the swales and mallee-like on the dune crests.

#DYK almost any eucalypt can be kept in a pot! This one is a Jingymia Mallee, Eucalyptus synandra. In general, potted plants are more vulnerable to drying out, overheating or freezing. So position your pot somewhere sheltered & convenient for regular watering. More detail on our IG and FB #LoveAGum

Pretty little mauve flowers of the Port Lincoln Mallee, AKA Purple-flowered Mallee, Eucalyptus albopurpurea. Once thought to be a subspecies of the Crimson Mallee, Eucalyptus lansdowneana, the Port Lincoln Mallee differs in its white, pink or purple flowers and larger, bushier habit.

Pedicellate gumnuts (left) are connected to a group (AKA umbel or inflorescence) stalk (AKA peduncle) by individual stalks (AKA pedicels) and hang freely from one another. Sessile gumnuts (right) lack pedicels and are instead attached directly to the group stalk. #LoveAGum
