Euan @euant.bsky.social · 06/10/2026This is why he's divisive I guess. If he's in the side you HAVE to build around him. Some will argue he's worth it, some will say you have no choice because he won't adapt to any other system other than one for him. 000
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Have a shark cordless stick thing. Way cheaper than Dyson and works really well. Would definitely buy again. 010
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I'm sure a sizeable fine to be shared around could soften the blow given they have defrauded the the league, and by extension, other clubs out of past revenues 010
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Is there clarity on the timeline? Be very surprising if City didn't appeal which pushes out the point of the sanctions kicking in. There could be substantially less than the current 30 games to forfeit that could make the damage a bit more palatable to share around. 100
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Be interesting to know... Of course a lot of businesses have done their restructuring now- moved EU branches into overseas subsidiaries etc- so have eaten the cost and would be unlikely to unwind. 010
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Hilarious when the first letter in the abbreviation isn't the one anyone should object to 000
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I had always expected that they were getting above market sponsorship income from friendly companies. I am quite surprised that they had to cheat it to the extent they did. 001

Euan @euant.bsky.social · 25/09/2026The premier league isn't a public body. It's a private company so so I don't see how government ministers are going to do anything. The shareholders are the 20 clubs. Even if they lean on the board to do something, they can't act against the interests of 19 of the 20 shareholders in favour of the 1. 010
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Yeah, but under what mechanism? And why would the government do it? 110
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 25/09/2026How or why would the government intervene? The PL is a limited company whose shareholders are the 20 clubs. 110

Euan @euant.bsky.social · 18/09/2026The semantics around how americans may or may not use the word outside of its legal sense is beside the point. The orginal point being made is the rest of the world doesn't see this as a Trump issue. It's a US issue. The US elected him. Twice. It's a US problem and other countries are pivtoting away 000
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Yeah, but if you win the electoral college you have legal authority to form the executive? 100
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Yeah, and law exists. And US law says someone has a mandate to govern if they win the electoral college vote. 100
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 17/09/2026In any other context, you'd use the word in the way I'm describing though, right? The manager at work's mandate for taking action comes from a board resolution etc? Near analogous to authority. 100
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 17/09/2026That's just not what the word means though. Hence everyone else's confusion. It's the authority to carry out your agenda. Which comes from campaigning on it and winning the contest. 300
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Those bullet points are subjective assessments though. It's not hard to imagine cases where two people could view the same incident and legitimately come to different conclusions. 000
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Fernandez didn't touch the ball though, did he? Genuine Q. I didn't watch the game. 100
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 14/09/2026True, but at the end of the day it's still subjective so there isn't a 'right' answer. All VAR is really doing is taking more time to arrive at a contested result. 100
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 14/09/2026It wouldn't really.... The issue is trying to put some illusion of science around something that's completely subjective. We have had TV replays forever and still pundits and ex-refs couldn't agree on the correct decisions even with time to consider. What hope is there of doing that during a match? 100
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 31/08/2026I thought this when Merino came in. Sort of player we badly needed in some of the barren years. We had plenty of super talented players, and quite a lot of experience just not enough proper grown ups. 040

Euan @euant.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Many people could misinterpret that question... It could be read like you flip a coin and then move on to a 50/50 chance of 1m if you win the toss 000
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 20/07/2026Yeah, when talking about the Spanish team, we'd say 'Spain are...' but Americans would use 'Spain is...'. When talking about Spain the country, we'd say 'Spain is doing X.....' 110

Euan @euant.bsky.social · 20/07/2026Oh no... This is going to go all Rangers/Sevco/Rangers.... Tbh, I think you are right, even leaving aside the football bodies, the East was essentially subsumed into the West, I think. 000
Euan @euant.bsky.social · 20/07/2026It's just a difference between American English and English. It's common to refer to the collective as singular in American but not in English. Not sure of the history/linguistics of the divergence. 110
