Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 28/11/2024We are trying something new to year www.nytimes.com/2019/11/18/d...nytimes.comChinese Roast Duck, but Make It Turkey (Gift Article)With juicy meat and extra-crisp skin, Thanksgiving turkeys cooked in the manner of ducks are keeping Chinatown barbecue restaurants busy across the United States. 280
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 28/11/2024That last one is not bad, but honestly what I would have said is pretty simple: “Happy Fucking Thanksgiving!” 150
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 28/11/2024Note: I did not ask it anything about Marea. Just Thanksgiving. Anyway, I kept trying… 100
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 28/11/2024I asked Chat-GPT to write a Thanksgiving note in my voice. It started poorly 150
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 28/11/2024Do you think people who have found unique benefits (or joy) in a vegan diet might make the same argument? 110
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 28/11/2024It’s a good question but I also think it’s super speculative at this point 110
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 28/11/2024Unless you’re trying to blow up a balloon and a highly calcified vessel when it can be quite a problem 000
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 28/11/2024That said, you are 100% right that calcium is not the cause of the problem but a sign of the problem 100
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 28/11/2024The mesa CAC risk calculator illustrates this pretty nicely. internal.mesa-nhlbi.org/about/proced... Here is a hypothetical pt with CAC = 400 and same patient at 2000 210
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 28/11/2024I think it’s probably unwise to assume we understand mechanism here since we have no good experimental evidence that more calcified plaques are more “stable” and thus less risky. More athero is bad and more is associated with more risk. More calcium in the cors means more athero means more risk 110
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 27/11/2024Is it possible carnivorism is an eating disorder? 120
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 18/11/2024As they say, is it a threat or a promise- feature or bug- glass half empty or full? 010
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 18/11/2024I think I’ll try to make my experience on Twitter so bad that I’m forced to leave. It probably won’t be too hard 2130

Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Well guess where those people ended up on vaccines? You can Google it… @alanlevinovitz.bsky.social 000
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 16/11/2024And remember when we got destroyed for ending with this paragraph? 210
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Remember when Nicola and I wrote this piece www.statnews.com/2019/05/09/t...statnews.comIs tribalism undermining objectivity about low-carb, high-fat diets?Everyone has a stake in nutrition, so we should be clear-eyed about what we know, even if what we know is "we don't know." 120
Ethan Weiss @ethanjweiss.bsky.social · 19/08/2023At some point, I’ll have made at least a single post on all the platforms. Might as well get this one out of the way now… 0120
