“It’s a good skill to have. And I, for one, wouldn’t never turn down a good home cooked meal.” He decided, his eyes flitting around the markets curiously. It was busy, but he seemed at ease.

My favourite part of Heavensward is when Grinnaux accuses you of talking to heretics so you beat him and his boyfriend up to prove that Halone says they’re lying Next quest: anyway should go and find Iceheart the heretic Grinnaux and Paulecrain:

He nodded briefly in understanding. “I… wondered as much. I heard all about that mess at the Falcon’s Nest when I was, ahem, incapacitated. And it’s not the first time we’ve dined together.”

[He’s silent for a moment. He knows what this means] I shall be safe. Just like all the times before. Not that it’ll come to it, but Ratatoskr herself blessed this armour. I think it will do much to help my cause.

“No, it’s quite the blend. Bacchus, it’s called. From a little settlement in La Noscea.” He offered her the bottle again. “Could say the same. Then again, I’m relieved I don’t have to drink the whole thing to myself.”

Aye. Exactly. They have time to brood. We mortals don’t have such luxuries. [He shrugged] perhaps. Then again, I didn’t expect to make it this far. Surviving all I did was naught short of a miracle, and I for one mean to make the most of it.

Maybe we ought to train together some day. The techniques don’t seem to differ too much. Avoid it at all costs. Should you be in the area, I strongly recommend the coffee. Have you tried it? I personally just take it as is, but it’s commonly drunk with milk and syrups.

[He meets them with his own warm ones, her embrace like a cooling salve against his burning form. He hums softly, a thumb grazing her cheek, and parts only a moment later, meeting her eyes as he summoned words.] What I mean to say is, I’d be honoured.

He beamed at her. “It’s not bad, as wine goes. I believe it was a fairly rare one in La Noscea at some point. Bacchus. Made in Wineport, if you’re familiar.” The bottle was extended for her to either smell or taste. Her preference.

I know full well who I’m dealing with, Aymeric. And they know me. I won’t deny, they can like smell their sire’s blood on me still. And yet. I still think I’m the best man for the job. But if you truly insist. I shan’t interfere. For now.

Problem is, he’s always been a kept man. Dragoons had lodgings and probably food included so he just didn’t spend it really and had no reason to learn money sense. (And as a man who didn’t think he was gonna live long, had no reason to save it) It’s probs how he spent all of it in Kugane 😭

|| I thought that! I kinda wonder if he realises he’s been scammed and shrugged it off just like “well he was clearly desperate for coin” Honestly, Estinien earned a SHIT load as azure dragoon. Ishgard paid anyone who could slay even one dragon very well so he must have been loaded.

Well, I could say the same of you. Suppose we could both class the spinning as a…. sort of defence, eh? I’ve long been curious about the scythe as arms. Something I seldom saw in Ishgard. Aye, then again. Better than then forgetting to eat and promptly keeling over.

Indeed. It would have been far too easy to veer in the same way as Nidhogg, considering the… situation. But I’d like to think that I moved beyond holding onto such anger by this point. Wyrms don’t have such a luxury. They don’t perceive time as we do. Terrible appointment keepers.
