day immediately thoroughly ruined by local happenings truly incredible

why am I nostalgic over having finished digimon adventure 02... I literally finished watching it only a few months ago... deeply strange feeling

akalabeth is rough yeah... I don't think I have the guts to even try it myself really, like there's old games and then there's that oops the ones after are a bit more palatable and I really wanna play those.. I think starting with either ultima IV or VII could be less jarring!

it is kind of crazy that the first mmorpg is also kind of one of the only ones to get it really right in a sense or at least as far as I know UO was the one that coined the term mmorpg

stupid thing that's really aching for a bunch of cake right now (hi yeah it's me, I am down bad for cake... daydreaming about sugary creamy goodness in bed)

I keep wanting to play Wizardry but those games are like extra evil (good), I've only played 8 which is a blast and at least fair compared to the first 3 games as far as I know

Underworld is surprisingly fun, very much recommend it, there's also an easy patch to enable mouse look and awsd so you don't have to press on the corners of the screen to turn around or walk

Tail is OP in wrestling, please nerf

My feathered snake sona, Dova, wrestles A.U.T.I.E., in a fighting ring with healthbars. I am utterly destroying them; they are glitching and tapping out while I flex spinning their wrestling mask around with a finger.

the music in UO is really fun too... I've been listening to the midi files on an SC-55 emulator just an hour ago or so instead of going to bed oops (user has been planning to play ultima online for years now but never gets to it)

rambling aside in the previous thread, huge damn nerd Zoroark (me) can not be stated enough, my ass is big and my old game probable autism strong, I can not be defeated and WILL yap about how much I love old games while eating concerning amounts of food

I also need more people to experience the stupidity that is Ultima IX with cheats enabled and just messing around and exploring, the only other game I've had as much fun with was Morrowind as a kid, though the latter is definitely a way better game than U9...

shroomf @esron.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

the horrors quite frankly, the series being so close to my heart despite not having played all of them sits so badly with me and I really need to at least go through the 2nd trilogy and then finish 7 and serpent isle (yes I know serpent isle is evil and wonky)

shroomf @esron.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

being a Ultima nerd is so stupid, absolutely no one in my age range knows about it usually and also I'm silly so I've only played IX and underworld over the years, but it's also a brainrot due to me having grown up with Ultima IX so I feel like a sleeper agent anytime I hear the humanoid fight theme

<- silly thing that for some reason prefers DOS versions of a lot of old games to remakes more often than not unless it's a really good port that's essentially the original game..

110

shroomf @esron.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

a ton of people playing new games exclusively meanwhile I'm over here just fiddling with DOSBox or installing exult so I can run Ultima 7 easier, also what a presentation for a game damn (stupid zoroark that's been thinking about it for a while, booting up The Black Gate is just really cool..)

gfdvhcx I mean I liked cakes a lot before too but never had more than one just for me.... truly corrupting feeling being able to just go eat a third or over half a cake in one go without anyone complaining 💦

shroomf @esron.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

I think getting cakes was ill advised because now I want more cakes gdghgdz ough..... I only have a slice left from 2 cakes (courtesy of a certain cake fiend) and I'm kind of craving more 💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭🧈
