Beyond belated, my piece for @jayvikbigbang.bsky.social, a little bit of Vikjayce for the soul. It was lovely being on this project and bouncing around with my fellow creators!

League versions of Jayce and Machince Herald Viktor stand in a dilapidated warehouse, with green and orange light filtering in around them. Viktor has his mask off, revealing his pale and sharp face, where Jayce no longer has his coat and only dons a white button-up and his vest. Not just the violence, but the possessiveness, the feral way he'd claimed Viktor in front of everyone. And here Viktor was, fixing him, tending to him like Jayce hadn't just snapped in the middle of the street.
A slow, giddy realization settles over him.
Viktor lets him get away with anything.
Jayce's lips twitch.
He could do anything right now.

Jayce scowled, flopping back down with another dramatic sigh.
"You're avoiding the question," he mumbled into the pillow.
Viktor stared at him.

When Viktor returns, he's changed out of his usual attire, and that's at least enough to momentarily drag Jayce out of his mental down spiral.

His Academy vest and button-down have been replaced by a deep blue loose-fitted sweater, which is tucked haphazardly into his pants. The sleeves are rolled up to his elbows, likely for the sake of not getting oil on them, exposing the delicate curve of his wrists. And it's ridiculous, really, how much just that makes Jayce's heart pound frantically in his chest. Over his wrists.

Briefly, Viktor pauses in the entryway of the living room.
Jayce realizes with a start that Viktor is staring at him as much as he had been staring at Viktor, his gaze clinging to Jayce's bare chest almost shamelessly. And he's breathing a bit harder, enough that Jayce can see it from where he's sitting.

"Viktor..?" Jayce tries, and Viktor startles.

"You've done as I asked," Viktor says quickly. "Good. Would you, um... like anything to drink? Before we begin?"

Jayce's mouth does feel dry, but he doubts water would help. "I'm alright."

Viktor: Jayce, I need your opinion. This diameter should work in theory, but in practice I keep having to increase it by a few centimetres.
Jayce: Hm... That is odd, yeah.

jayce reaches into his pocket, looking for something.

Jayce: Have you - hold on one second - have you thought about changing the metal? Maybe you're having a density issue.
Viktor: I mean, I could... I tried to account for that already, though. And then we might have an issue of uneven heating. Do we have anything with a similar melting point?
Jayce: I think we do... Or I could work on mixing an alloy. (Oh, there it is!)

viktor keeps talking, crossing his arms. jayce is holding two hair sticks between his teeth and is gathering viktor's hair into a loose bun.

Viktor: Ah, but then we have a problem with the conductivity!
Jayce (muffled): D'we?
V: Probably, considering I ran the numbers for this and not anything else.
J: You can j'st run them ag'n.
V: Ugh, but I don't want to - what are you doing?

jayce admires his handiwork (and his husband). viktor is unconcerned with his hair and has no idea what that was about.

Last year I had the opportunity to contribute to Convergence @jayvikfanzine.bsky.social , which was divided in "arcs" and every artist and writer had the task to choose and represent their favourite ⚙️💫 OFC I went with the doomed yaoi divorce arc 👀 [ #jayvik ; #arcane ]

My contribution to "Convergence" a Jayvik Fanzine. The art offers an alternate ending to the moment where Jayce from a different dimension infiltrates the commune and supposedly kills Viktor. In my version he's conflicted about what he has to do. The characters stand in the middle of the sanctuary and are depicted as a renaissance painting: Jayce has dropped to his knees and is hugging Vik by the waist. Viktor is depicted like a holy figure and welcomes Jayce with open arms and a melancholic expression.

Jayce swings his axe with a satisfying "chop" ringing through the quiet field. Viktor observes from the porch swing of the cabin they built together in their solitude. Jayce let's the axe fall from his hand to wipe the sweat from his brow, Viktor let's out an appreciative whistle.

Jayce turns his head with a chuckle, "Ha.. enjoying the view V?" He turns fully towards his lover now. "Maybe I should come over there and give you a better look?" He flirts from across the yard.

Viktor snorts a laugh, "This bench is feeling rather lonely... Perhaps you have earned a break?"

"Hmm, perhaps you're right."

Jayces legs move toward the cabin before Viktor can finish his sentence. Instinct dictating his body gravitate closer at his partners call.

Before Viktor has time to process Jayce's looming shadow is casting him in darkness.

"Uh oh."

Is all Viktor has time to think before being nearly crushed by his lovers embrace. Both sharing sweet smiles and

Jayce settles his head into Viktors lap as their laughter settles.

"Are you comfortable my heart?" Viktor hums as he pets Jayces work damp hair.

Jayce stares into Viktors eyes that rival the suns brilliance, "Yes, mi amore." Hugging Viktors hand that had found its way to his chest.

Jayce feels the familiar pull of sleep after a day of labor, a nap before dinner wouldn't hurt. Viktors lap was his favorite pillow afterall. The gentle breeze lulled him into a comfortable silence, admiring the molten hues of his loves eyes as he drifted.

"Rest now"

Viktors voice felt distant as Jayces eyes grew heavier. Comforting in a way he had grown so familiar with.

"My love"

Jayce felt the soft warmth of Viktors fingers swipe across his forhead. His last vision before submitting to his brief slumber was the ring, swaying in the wind, around Viktors neck. He had forged both his own and Viktors matching gold bands long ago. A symbol of their continued and resilient love.

Viktors voice sounded so far away, distant yet still spoken with so much warmth.

Jayces eyes slid closed.

"SLEEP"
