This is correct. There is no future of democratic self government in the US with an unreformed Supreme Court. The Court is riddled with corruption and abuses of power and rooting out that corruption is a sine qua non of civic democracy in the United States.

Does anyone know if there's a good way to allocate AST nodes produced by chumsky in arenas? I like doing this to more densely allocate things and, more importantly, to give all AST nodes of the same type a dense space of IDs that I can map to auxiliary data in future passes like type resolution.

Rewrote the parser for my little template-to-wasm compiler to use the chumsky Rust library yesterday. Took a bit of figuring out, but overall it wasn't too hard to do and I think it'll be much easier to extend in the future! github.com/esoterra/tem...

Just updated my template-compiler project from Rust edition 2021 to 2024 and from Wasmtime 20 to 42 in only +15/-15 worth of changes and very little semantically changing! The component model is getting way easier to keep up with than it used to be! github.com/esoterra/tem...

A poem that reads as follows:

This is not a contract

I offer nothing and you accept it. You offer nothing in return and I take it gently to my hands. The world remains unchanged, except this humble printed paper on which your ink dries.

What did you think it would do? Well, it can't do that, because we believe it doesn't. The ritual won't work and a notary can't fix it.

Even as the light bounces off of this paper, hitting our eyes and creating fictions in your brain, its image betrays you. Form and function abandon each other or, understood differently, become tender incestuous lovers.

I am me. You are you. What's mine is mine, what's yours is yours, and that is the end of it.

You may exercise your existing rights to address any grievances and you are bound by existing obligations. I won't prevent you from taking legal action regarding this document. Any court or arbiter that will take you up may have you.

(a pair of long lines where signatures would go)

I feel lucky to live in a world where Bigtop Burger happened. Weird art combining the artist's various inspirations? Clowns vs. Undead? References to Cats and a 1920s film I've never watched called The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari? I would have never thought to ask for it, but I'm so glad it happened.

This gets progressively funnier with every use of the term "floppy".
One of Britain’s most senior police officers has launched an angry tirade against Extinction Rebellion protesters going “all floppy” when they get arrested.

Sir Stephen House, the deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan police, said the tactic of going limp was a “flipping nuisance” as it required extra officers to drag protesters away.

House told a London assembly police and crime committee hearing: “We have asked them to stop being floppy. And that might seem like a silly thing to say, but when we arrest them and pick them up, they go all floppy, which is why you see four or five officers carrying them away. It’s a complete waste of officers’ time, and a complete pain in the neck.”

House also expressed annoyance at how the tactic made the police look heavy-handed. He said: “The problem with them going floppy and four offices carrying them away [is that it] looks to the general public like police are overreacting here. We’re not making them go floppy. They’re just sort of being a nuisance.”

A new draft of the 2035 Wake County Transit Plan is out and I'm pretty disappointed. The plan drops commuter rail in favor of spending $1.1 Billion on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) down I-40. For transit to succeed, it needs to be faster than driving. This will never be that. #NorthCarolina #WakeCounty
Regional Rail Investments

The 2035 WTP will also invest in the region’s rail network by working with partners and leveraging other funding sources to add service, support expansion and improve connections to the regional rail network. The Plan will designate $250 million over the next 10 years to support regional rail investment opportunities within Wake County through investments like new train stations, track improvements, and funding more trips on existing services.

his is a major shift from the Commuter Rail project envisioned in the original 2016 Wake Transit Plan and continued in the 2030 Plan. The 2035 Plan recommends the postponement of commuter rail service planning from Durham to Garner due to financial and technical feasibility study findings. Instead, funds have been redirected to support investments in BRT and contribute to federal and state regional rail projects. This change was determined to accomplish the regional connectivity goals in a way that is more efficient and expedient. The shift in focus was supported by stakeholders and community members throughout the plan development process.BIG MOVE: CONNECT THE REGION

Key Projects:
▪ Study and potential implementation of BRT on I-40 to connect Raleigh with RTP and RDU.
▪ BRT extensions connecting Garner and Clayton and Cary and RTP with 30-minute or better service.
▪ Investment in existing and planned regional rail service.

Transit Plan Updates:
▪ Network of regional community transportation hubs.
▪ Commuter rail from Durham to Garner has been postponed in favor of investments in other regional
rail services.

Key Benefits:
▪ BRT and express bus services connect Wake County communities with regional destinations with all-
day service every day.
▪ Regional BRT services advance WTP connectivity goals faster and less expensive than commuter rail.
▪ Coordinated, cost-efficient investments in state/federal regional rail projects.
