Are you familiar with 1408? That’s a perfect example of a movie actually being made *better* by someone stepping in and telling the director that his mean ending actually sucks and a happier one would be more meaningful.

My problem with cruel endings is that from a storytelling standpoint it all feels pointless when a character, in any genre, endures unimaginable hardships just to die. It’s generally for shock and it feels lazy. And I personally hate nihilism in any media. Smile 2’s ending rules tho.

Jealous tbh. My dad got me into gaming as a kid, too, but he didn’t really stick with it and once the SNES came around it was too many buttons for his patience.

The optimal goal would be to get him to be able to enjoy First Light or Witcher 3 but I know that’s probably impossible. He always liked playing Zelda and Mario with me but I the former would be way too complicated for him in its present state. He loves fantasy action books and movies.

Lol yeah that’s what I’m worried about. His brain isn’t too bad, though. He often remembers TV shows better than I do and can focus on one thing most of the time.

My idea is to suggest he get a Switch 2 and Nintendo online—maybe Mario Kart—slowly working his way up to camera-controlled games. But I doubt he’ll have the patience.

Has anyone reading this successfully gotten their elderly parents into games? My dad played pong and pac man and Mario with me, but he never progressed. He loves 007 and The Witcher show, so I know he’d love those games if he were capable of playing them, but I’m trying to be realistic.

Right. How? It feels like they’ve used up all their main IPs in 2026. Sure, there will be a RE in 2017, but it’s a remake, and I don’t think there will be any sort of new SF or MH. Maybe we get a Megaman Legends reboot 😆

23. ✅ Superb game, incredibly fun combat. Memorable characters. Loved it. ❌ There’s too much junk that you can’t sell, and Shizuka’s tips are quite annoying and repetitive… And it wouldn’t be Onimusha if the camera weren’t constantly screwing you over.

The aisles are all filled with people stocking because they aren’t open late anymore during proper stocking hours because they don’t want to pay humans. It’s a hellscape. Fuck this dystopia.

The grocery store is such a grim place these days. Everything is twice as expensive. There’s a nest of flock cameras in the parking lot, 4 c*ps putzing around, but nobody working the register. The self-checkout glitches every 3 items so you’re forced to talk to the mean old lady who oversees them.

You know, you’re probably right. They should obscure enough to not be obvious spoilers. We likely won’t get pics of Jesse and Alan hanging out like the Avengers. And I’m thankful too, because I have Onimusha and Trails coming tomorrow, and I’m a good chunk of the way into Zero Company.

It’s best to try to ignore it and play as if the other healer isnt there lol The good part is healing is a super easy job if you aren’t doing savage progression so in the end it doesn’t matter much.
