Canadian PM Justin Trudeau: "Today, the United States launched a trade war against Canada - their closest partner and ally, their closest friend. At the same time, they're talking about working positively with Russia, appeasing Vladimir Putin - a lying murderous dictator. Make that makes sense."

We’ve heard plenty about what Trump, Musk and their marauding henchmen want to destroy. But have you heard anything about what they want to build or in any way make lives better?

Trump looks at this reverend who asks for compassion with bored, bleary eyes. It will have no effect on this sociopath, but it is a noble act of defiance at a time when too many are modeling obedience.

Marine heatwaves (MHWs) don’t just harm ecosystems—they also alter the ocean’s carbon cycle! Our new analysis of 30 global datasets shows ocean CO₂ uptake drops by 8% during MHWs, with regional anomalies reaching up to 30%. 🌊

Livestock emissions are red Crop emissions are blue We're going to need to reduce emissions from food systems To stay within 1.5°C or even 2°
Figure showing growth in global GHG emissions from agriculture between 1990 (~5 Gt CO2e) and 2020 (~6 Gt CO2e).

~4 Gt CO2e of the emissions are from livestock production (enteric fermentation, manure management, manure applied to soils, manure left on pasture). The other ~2 Gt CO2e are from rice cultivation, synthetic fertilizers, crop residues, crop residue burning, and savanna fires.
