I think you're arguing in bad faith but I'll answer anyway: If--IF--there is no hiding or excusing their crimes (not just initially but ongoing), and IF they did not actively seek it as a career and IF they reliably are working to address the harm they've done, it's fine. Jacob's done none of these.

1 - Yes. Not 'good', but 'better'. In this case there is also the disclosure issue. 2 - Becoming an artist is fine no matter what you do or are. That doesn't mean you deserve or are owed an audience, collaborators, or financial backing. Again, artistic expression does not require external support.
