Did I make another top 9 because I *felt bad* I left out some games? Yes, yes, I did. PS: Wait, I forgot StarCraft and Warcraft.... Nooooo!

Erik "Faelor" Shafer @erikshafer.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

There are so many other games I had to choose *not* to include, but I think these are the nine most *impactful* that shaped my gaming tastes, inside jokes, genre preferences, musical tastes, childhood + friendships, etc.

Okay, the Timewalking feature from BlizzCon is really neat, but also... a little scary. Sad? 😅 URL: timewalking.blizzcon.com

The side-project has soft-launched. Applying a bit more polish so a user's first-time experience is smooth. More functionality is coming soon. If you've ever wanted to find old friends and guildmates from digital worlds you used to adventure in, this site will be helpful.

Post your favorite selfie that makes you look way cooler than you are - - - I've always struggled with body image. Especially lately, since I put on a lot of the weight I lost. This photo certainly resonates with Matty's theme of "cooler than I am" and makes me want to get back into shape.

Been listening to a lot of Andrew WK lately to help my mood. This photo is from when I went to Lincoln, NE, on 2014-Sept-20 with a good friend to see him perform immediately after the Cornhuskers won a home game. Lincoln was a madhouse, yet we found a parking spot directly in front of the venue.

A reminder to support your LGS (local game store) instead of big box retailers. Thanks for the MTG x FF (FFVI) deck and, more importantly, for your continued support of the Omaha community, Cafe Monster Coffee & Games. Terra, you're a *trance icon*. ♥️🤍🖤 PS: FFVI was my first real love for FF.

Where did the time go? I was reminded this was 8 years ago today. I was squatting a modest amount of weight ~3 times a week, etc. 💪🏻 Fast forward to this week: I've been unable to complete basic chores and cancelled appointments due to ongoing back pain. 😤 Getting fit again has been challenging. 🫠

I would like to share a little bit of what I have been participating in recently. Wolverine 3.0 was released yesterday! It's a messaging and web framework for .NET software development. To be fair, I didn't do a whole lot for 3.0, but I'll be more involved in future releases and video content. 😀
