And once you’re done with the main game, the infinite tower dlc is _magnificient_.

For me, Returnal is one if the best games of the last ten years. Saros was good, but almost everything that made Returnal what is is had been sand papered away. I can’t remember feeling tension at all when playing Saros.

21. Obsession. Pretty good, but not exactly the horror revolution I had been promised. If you want to watch someone more or less rape someone for 90 minutes and then let her pay the price for it, then I guess this is the movie for you. #31nightsofhorror

I kickstarted the Fangoria Compendium a while back and just got access to the digital archive of Fangoria & Gorezone issues. What a treasure! Started by reading a series of conversations between Cronenberg, Carpenter, Landis & Garris, and an interview with Rob Bottin about his work on The Thing.

20. Undertone. This was so good. I can’t understand why more people aren’t raving about it. Scared the shit out of me, something very few horror movies manage. Watch it in a dark room, maybe with headphones on for added effect. #31nightsofhorror

Hello, UK-resident book-liking folks! We have put some copies of our magnificent cursed pirate book, GOLD TEETH, on sale from our little shop. Currently these are UK-only shipping while we get international stuff sorted, that's coming soon. In the meantime, though: teethrpg.bigcartel.com

FTG celebrates ten years tonight (it’s actually ten years, four months). Ten years, ten games. Crazy. Best of times, worst of times, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Small studio, super creative people. Easily the best, most fun way to build games.

This movie doesn’t interest me at all, which is sad because I grew up reading & re-reading the Narnia books a thousand times over, but I had an “interesting” reaction watching the trailer when Zeppelin’s Stairway turns into … something. Very clear I wasn’t the target audience :) youtu.be/gDJ-ini7fF0

I finished reading/listening to Tarantino’s Cinema Speculation today and I can’t recommend it enough. Now I’m on the lookout for more good movie criticism. I’ve read Kael, but that was long ago so might order a collection. Would love recommendations for more modern, insightful writing abt movies!

Det här kan sluta på 3 sätt: 1. De vinner. Alla förlorar. 2. Giljotiner. Alla förlorar. 3. Våra stater gör något överhuvudtaget åt saken och straffbelägger företagen & sänker dem ekonomiskt. Alla vinner förutom ett gäng as vi klarar oss utan.

Haven’t seen it yet (& have a De Palma’s version rewatch planned for October first anyway), but for me Flanagan has historically been too good for me to not at least check it out. His low bar is ridiculously high.

18. Freddy Vs Jason. There are so many reasons to dislike this, but I surprisingly did not. But: It’s hard to think of another movie where the aesthetics feel so much of its time, in a bad way. #31nightsofhorror

17. Eaten Alive. Tobe Hooper’s followup to Texas Chainsaw. This is _not at all_ as good, but it has a certain charm. The sound design is great! It basically sounds like someone repeatedly fell on a keyboard, while someone else strummed out of tune piano wires. #31nightsofhorror

13. Slither. James Gunn. Rewatch. Still a whole lot of fun. What would be even more fun is to have Gunn make a return to this type of movie making, with all the skills he’s honed at Marvel & DC over the years, kind of like what Raimi did with Send Help.
