I'll say this for the Trump campaign people, they can credibly say that they go to places most other campaigns don't bother with, reach out to people who don't normally get so much attention. That helps explain the intensity of reaction they get from those areas.

I guess the good news is Rubio is the closest thing we have anymore to "Generic Republican." But the bad news is Vance is the obvious heir apparent and he seems to be doing the things to keep that mantle. And the inevitable caveat is, a lot can happen still, the nominee might not be on this list.

The government's legal interest is in the public benefit that results from implementation of the law, not in the pleasure governmental agents get in implementing it. As in "Peace and quiet, a culture of law and order," not "It's fun to punch a hippie in the face."

I don't typically listen to country music. When I do it's usually because I'm seeking out a specific artist. I listed to Dolly Parton a lot on Friday, for instance. Or sometimes a friend brings an artist yo my attention. So, no, I haven't heard "Choosin' Texas." Does that make me a classist snob?

Despairing over the political gulf between my dad and me. I can ignore it and continue having a nice relationship otherwise, but it really bugs me that he and his remainder-of-life partner can't/won't see the harm that Trump & Co. are doing. They say he's doing some good things (unspecified) too.
