Words do matter. And they shape deeper thinking. I’ve observed that when some HE projects or initiatives change their language, they say they can continue their original work without using the banned language. But the passion and focus gets lost or shifted despite best intentions.

This is so sad. Thinking of the undiscovered advances, the hopeful young people who will never be trained and, more distally, the work in organizations like AHRQ (RIP) and NIH that apply lessons-learned from SBE to develop interventions that improve health outcomes. Entire fields destroyed.

I vacationed on Vancouver Island just before T was elected for his first term. The nice couple hosting us at their BnB (who also happened to be in a Fleetwood Mac cover band) jokingly offered to let us take refuge with them if he won. I think about them almost every day 🤪

This is a big deal for Bungalu! For six months after his rescue, he never lay down – too weak and unsure he could get back up. Now, he's strong enough to enjoy a leisurely dust bath. Little Kaikai, however, wasn't convinced. Seeing her best friend lying down, she rushed over to nudge him back up!
