It’s weird that before The Mandalorian and Grogu, Embo’s last onscreen appearance was twelve years ago when Netflix dropped season six of The Clone Wars. His last appearance was literally two weeks before I started dating my wife and we celebrate our seventh wedding anniversary next month.

The Mandalorian and Grogu seems like a culmination of the argument that “Star Wars SHOULD be empty calorie vibes” that has floated through popular consciousness since at least the lead-up to The Force Awakens, so to see such a tepid response gives me hope that we can finally put that idea to rest.

They’re saying Embo is the “main” villain for Mandalorian and Grogu. I’m hoping it’s not true, but you have to admit that making the central antagonist a guy who Luke/Anakin/Rey would mop the floor with by the end of the first act is an interesting way to show the scale of the movie.

The Darth Maul trailer looked cool. Star Wars animation seems to be always dependable. Masters of the Universe trailer seemed self-conscious. I kinda wish it had gone all-in with Eternia, with the purple skies and no Earth scenes. Didn’t make me excited to see it despite being curious originally.

Did my annual viewing of the Original Trilogy today. Started the first episode of The Mandalorian not long after finishing Return of the Jedi since I’ve been wanting to revisit the New Republic era series to try and jumpstart some excitement for the upcoming movie and the transition was seamless.
