Then again, it came out at a time when, bandwidth was pricey. Downloading an image, let alone over 200, might have been heavy on a server, or however it worked. Then a website gets hacked and everything's gone. Well, not everything, but it's damn close enough....

I feel like, I owe to my mom, my highschool teacher, even the characters in my stories, to make something worth preserving. And I think of that webcomic, the one with only 173 pages. It was preserved, but only partly, by webcrawling bots. No person saved it before it was taken down....

I wish I had the drive to just MAKE Jacket Button, to just bring out the stories in my head with fewer and short pauses. I wish I didn't get overwhelmed when I think of all the things I want to work on. And when it's done, I wish it could just stay around, and not vanish without warning. (cont'd)

And worse, I have restarted it at least twice. I tried it as some "one-off" stories, then I restarted it in a "chapter-by-chapter" style, and when that became cumbersome and limiting for me, I went back to one-offs. (cont'd)

Years ago, a webcomic I followed, one that was beloved by so many, was taken down. From what I remember, the database/service it was hosted on got hacked. All that remains of it is an incomplete archive--173 pages--on The Internet Archive. (cont'd)
