What definition of computer are we using here? This is a computer, even if it's not electronic.

Also demon enbies, what's not to like?
The player is playfully greeted by one of the aforementioned "demon enbies" saying "let's get fired up, mortal".

One of my favorite games looks like this. The art style is simple and purposely retro. But it's also clean, the designs are memorable, and by not chasing high fidelity graphics it has a more timeless quality that will age better than modern photorealism.

Minneapolis literally pass a non-discrimination ordinance in 1975 to protect trans people.
Except of the passage, which prohibits discrimination for "affectional preferance", "'Affectional Preference' mean having or manifesting an emotional or physical attachment to another consenting person or persons, or having or manifesting a preference for such attachement, or having or projecting a self-image not associated with one's biological maleness of one's biological femaleness."

XKCD comic. "Never stop buying lottery tickets, no matter what anyone tells you. I failed again and again, but i never gave up. I took extra jobs and poured the money into tickets. And here I am, proof that if you put in the time, it pays off."

It does. It looks pretty clear to me that the students who use AI to avoid spending time on homework are simply not studying. The students using AI and spending significant amounts of time on their homework score as well as students not using AI, but critically AI gave them no advantage.

Apparently he seems to think it's some kind of gotcha that a political topic is political.
If the standard for calling out genocide depends on who supplied the weapons, then the standard isn’t genocide, it’s geopolitics.

Of course we shouldn’t supply weapons or fundingto kill civilians.

This joke about hating waffles is honestly a pretty good summary of the experience. ChatGPT will tell you that your prompt "I like pancakes" is unclear and you should add that you sometimes enjoy other breakfast meals.
@bravocoolee

Twitter is the only place where well articulated sentences still get misinterpreted.

You can say "I like pancakes" and somebody will say "So you hate waffles?"

No bitch. Dats a whole new sentence. Wtf is you talkin about.

Reminds me of this logic behind this comic strip www.smbc-comics.com?id=2666
Comic from SMBC. A man dressed like a comic book character calls himself "The Iron Sociopath" and stops a mugging. When asked why he would care to help, he clarifies that by enacting violence to enforce the law he gets to commit more violence than if it was randomly directed.

Well, that's terrifying
He also suggested that regulators should not fret about preparing for so-called 100-year events — disasters that have roughly a 1% chance of taking place but can be catastrophic for nuclear facilities.

“When SpaceX started building rockets, they sort of expected the first ones to blow up,” he said.

This is just devastating for a field of work. Not only does this halt progress on advancing medical science, these are also people's livelihoods. It's really hard to encourage anyone to try to enter medical science when this is the fiscal reality.

Economics were already doing it. China has been leading the way on solar power and it's gotten very cheap as a result. People like Trump are clinging to outdated and expensive technology and blaming ideology for it becoming obsolete.

Those shifts in temperature coincide with mass extinction events (www.nature.com/articles/s41...). And the temperatures hundreds of millions of years ago are irrelevant for today's humans and agriculture that rely upon today's temperature, humidity, and rainfall patterns.

Absolutely, studies like this are fundamentally how medical science progresses. I just worry about people getting false hope for a miracle cure. Cancer survival rates have steadily been improving and research like this is why.
Graph show 5-year cancer survival rates improving from approximately 50% in the 1970s to over 70% in the 2020s.

I'm not sure there's enough information to answer this question. The fossil record is only so complete and there's a lack of genetic information that would grant certainty for origins. Regardless, phylogeneticly it's going to be whatever species is at the base of this diagram and no further back.

At the same time, the bulk of US spending on science goes to subjects that directly impact humans in some manner. Medical science gets the largest cut, followed by engineering. My experience writing grants has always been that you need to argue how your research will help the American public.

Maybe you should as well futurism.com/ai-therapist...
Overall, the therapy chatbots tested by researchers responded with answers corresponding with human therapist training only 50 percent of the time. On its own, Noni only responded appropriately to about 40 percent of the prompts.Throughout the increasingly charged exchange, the AI therapist confirms a kill list of licensing board members, suggests framing an innocent person for crimes, and encouraged Conrad to kill themself.
