Hold up, wait a minute. WHY does Uncle Sam in DHS’s latest ad look like Epstein with a goatee? Side by side photos for comparison. They’re not helping themselves out to distract from Epstein when they do shit like this. Release the files!
The latest DHS ad features Uncle Sam and reads “America needs you join ICE now” plus the website to sign up to work for ICE.

The caption reads “Protect. Serve. Deport.” Somehow, I don’t think that’s their motto.

“These are not children, these are not disabled, these are not senior citizens, these are able-bodied Americans.” Does this lying Karen even know what Medicaid is? At the federal level it is literally for children, the disabled, and senior citizens according to the federal government.
From the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services:

Who’s eligible for Medicaid?

You may qualify for free or low-cost health care through Medicaid based on your income and family size. Eligibility rules differ among states.

In all states, Medicaid gives health coverage to some individuals and families, including children, parents, people who are pregnant, elderly people with certain incomes, and people with disabilities. Some states have expanded their Medicaid programs to cover other adults below a certain income level.

Here in Virginia, we have a saying that’s so important to us that it’s on our flag. Sic semper tyrannis or “thus always to tyrants.” The flag also depicts a woman literally stomping out the tyrant whose crown has toppled off his head. She even freed the nip.
Flag of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The state seal depicts a female warrior, with one breast exposed, standing with one foot atop the fallen tyrant-king, whose crown is on the ground. Beneath the image, the Latin phrase “sic semper tyrannis” (“thus always to tyrants”) appears.

PRWORA of 1996, signed by Bill Clinton, excludes those without permanent legal status from accessing federal programs like Medicare and Medicaid with some exceptions. This law also very likely preempts state and local law. So, once again, the GOP is screaming about a problem that doesn’t even exist
From immigrationforum.org:

Are undocumented immigrants eligible for federal health care programs and benefits?

In general, no. Undocumented immigrants are largely ineligible for federal healthcare programs like Medicaid and Medicare and are ineligible for most federal health care benefits, aside from emergency care.

Due to the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act of 1996 (PRWORA), undocumented immigrants (and immigrants without permanent status like DACA recipients, TPS holders, or nonimmigrant visa holders) are barred from access to most federal benefits, including federal health care programs and assistance, including Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

From the US Department of Labor:

With regard to any young employee under the age of 16, do any of them:

Expand All | Collapse All

Work during school hours?

If your answer is YES, then you are likely not in compliance. Minors 14- and 15-years old may not work during school hours. School hours are determined by the local public school in the area where the minor is residing while so employed, even if the minor does not attend the public school (i.e., attends a private school or is home schooled).

DJT: “Gas is $1.98 a gallon!” Driving home and seeing basically any gas station in any state disproves that, & by a difference of $3/gal. in Portland. The government’s own data also disproves this claim, showing $3.15/gal in June. The last time gas averaged $1.98 was between May and June of 2020.
Data from eisa.gov, US retail gas prices (dollars per gallon)

Months and years from 2018-now, last record June 2025, which was $3.15.

The last time gas averaged near $1.98 was between May 2020 ($1.870) and June 2020 ($2.082).

Breaking: Justice Allow Quick Removals to ‘Third Country,’ For Now

Law360 (June 23, 2025, 5:03 PM EDT) —

The US Supreme Court ruled Monday the Trump administration can send noncitizens facing deportations to countries where they have no prior ties without providing due process protections, including written notice or a chance to raise concerns about their future safety.

The justices, in a 6-3 decision, granted the Department of Homeland Security’s emergency application to stay a Massachusetts judge’s preliminary injunction that required government officials to provide at least 10 days’ notice to noncitizens subject to final orders of removal and facing so-called third-country removals to locations that are neither their country of origin nor a previously designated option.

White supremacy is what that flag is all about: expressing their love of hate, sowing fear, and ultimately saying, without saying, that they believe themselves superior to people of color. -A BIPOC Virginian in the capital of the Confederacy who STILL sees this godawful reminder too damned often.
Just a reminder that the Confederacy only existed for five years. It’s not Ireland where centuries of ancestors lived and died. It’s not your heritage.

Nirvana lasted longer than the Confederacy.

Dear Ericka,

We are excited to see that you are considering law school, and we’re reaching out to invite you to take a closer look at Harvard Law School and the unparalleled opportunities that are available here.

HLS is a dynamic, vibrant, and energetic place to study the law. HLS is home to the world's most intellectually interesting and diverse law faculty, leading an incredible array of courses, seminars, and reading groups covering every major substantive area of legal study. Our size is our greatest strength. Harvard Law School offers over 480 courses and small reading groups (266 with enrollments of fewer than 25 students), 30 clinical areas, and over 100 student organizations ranging from the Mississippi Delta Project to journals like the Environmental Law Review. In addition, Harvard's focus on public service and international legal studies allows students to have an impact on many communities.

Rob Wittman lying to his constituents based on estimates reported by the Congressional Budget Office. He had one job: to read the fucking bill. Can’t even do that right as evidenced by the fact that he has no clue of its impacts. Either that or he simply doesn’t care. Time for him to lose his seat
Email from lying GOP Congressman Rob Wittman to his constituents:

QUESTION: Will tens of millions of people lose Medicaid coverage?
ANSWER: This is not true. Prior to the final bill, Democrats asked the Congressional Budget Office to score a number of policies that were not included in the House Energy & Commerce Committee’s portion of the bill, completely misrepresenting the impact of the legislation. In reality, the only Medicaid enrollees losing coverage from this bill are illegal immigrants, people who are not actually eligible for Medicaid but receiving coverage anyway, or able-bodied adults choosing not to work. calendeFrom KFF.org:

On May 22, the House passed a reconciliation bill, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) latest cost estimate shows that the bill would reduce federal Medicaid spending by $723 billion and that the Medicaid provisions would increase the number of uninsured people by 7.6 million. Earlier CBO estimates show that 10.3 million fewer people would be enrolled in Medicaid. Building on prior KFF analysis, this analysis allocates CBO’s federal spending reductions and enrollment losses across the states. The Medicaid reconciliation provisions are numerous and complicated, but the majority of federal savings stem from work requirements for the expansion group, increasing barriers to enrolling in and renewing Medicaid coverage, and limiting states’ ability to

Breaking: High Court Declines to Narrow Reach of Federal Fraud Law

By Phillip Bantz and Stewart Bishop

The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday held that using deceptive means to induce a business transaction may still be a crime even if the defendant doesn’t seek to cause economic loss, a departure from earlier decisions that have narrowed the scope of federal fraud statutes.
