Please give some love to this post from Matt Mikalatos...and some "Amen, and also" responses from me. In a time when Christians are attempting to use the Bible as an anti-migrant cudgel, Matt shows that even the writings of PAUL...yes, that Paul...have a powerful word for us Christians.

You may have heard about the apartment explosion in Oak Cliff last week. While horrific, it’s also bringing out a beautiful love and compassion among our community. I write about it here: open.substack.com/pub/whenefta...

Ahead of our Leadership Retreat tomorrow, tweaked a map I made when I first came to KPUMC. During the pandemic, it was despressing to look at. But now, it's remarkable to meditate/pray over. What diversity of race, economics, cultures, orientations! What an amazing place to do ministry.

As a pastor, over on FB, I often ask this question and see what response it gets. It’s a Methodist tradtion. My reach here on Blsky seems smaller. But I thought I’d offer a space where anybody who wants to can answer the question: “How is your soul?” How are you, in these troubling times?

A great “COTP” this week where I remind you of stark differences in Christian theology. “Theology matters,” and I unpack the “violent prayer” of CFNI, contrasting it to a moment when Jesus STOPS his own disciples from violent prayer. Full show here: open.substack.com/pub/whenefta...
