One Year Ago Today: Riverside live at the O2 Institute2 in Birmingham with acoustic support from Klone. They played at the same venue just over a year earlier - whilst I would have liked the setlist to have changed more, the second show was better than the first. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1SN...

One Year Ago Today: Running With Knives live at the Firebug in Leicester, playing in the regional Metal 2 the Masses semi-final alongside Inflictions, Black Annis and Break Them. This was the first time I heard them play new song Echoes: www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8ke...

Two years ago today: Bury Tomorrow kicked off their release shows for The Seventh Sun with an in-store performance at the HMV Vault in Birmingham. Quite a different vibe for a show, especially when Dani Winter-Bates went for a wander around the shop mid-set! www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2Sk...

Last night: Bravado (Tribute to Rush) at Eleven in Stoke. It was great to hear classic Rush tracks live for pretty much the first time for me and I was impressed by how closely the band recreated the tones and gear set-up of the originals. www.youtube.com/watch?v=F46W...

One year ago today: Headbussa, Deafheaven and Knocked Loose played at the O2 Institute in Birmingham. One of the best triple bills I've ever seen and I somehow survived being on the barrier without much damage. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XEj...

One year ago yesterday: I went for a second helping of The Callous Daoboys/Unprocessed/TesseracT tour at the O2 Ritz in Manchester. Really looking forward to the new Daoboys album so here's some of them being silly mathcore goobers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGxL...

One year ago today: Nothing More with Siamese and SiM at the O2 Institute in Birmingham. Sometimes I film a song specifically because the video might get a lot of views and this time it paid off, almost 2K views. I believe this song was featured in Attack on Titan. www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0p9...

If I had a nickel for every time Loudersound used one of my videos for a Spiritbox support act I'd have two nickels but it's cool it's happened twice. (Stray From the Path playing their new single Kubrick Stare) www.loudersound.com/reviews/spir...

"I feel like crying, that was beautiful." Spiritbox's Alexandra Palace show is the end of an era: where they go from rising stars to metal's next big thing

With live debuts, old favourites and stunning visuals, Spiritbox's headline show at Alexandra Palace is nothing short of magic

I could probably talk about this album for hours but here's a thousand-word summary of my thoughts on the new Dream Theater record Parasomnia: proghurst.co.uk/2025/02/drea...

Dream Theater: ‘Parasomnia’ Review

To describe Mike Portnoy’s return to Dream Theater as a dream come true might be a bit of a cheesy cliché but nonetheless it reflects the feelings of many of their long-time fans. I thoroughly
