Jerma985 subtitles are on hold. YouTube's subtitle editor permission is broken again. Since I don't have the privilege of speaking with the 2ndJerma team, this makes my job basically impossible. If YOU know how to contact a 2ndJerma editor, let me know. Otherwise, we'll have to wait on YouTube.

On 2ndJerma's YouTube Studio page, highlighted is the role of being a "subtitle editor," with "video subtitles" appearing completely blank. The video page is for "The Sinking Clown" and only the "Subtitles tab" isn't faded out.

As the subtitle editor, I personally apologize for this. If I had the time and budget, I would make sure every video has manual captions, but alas, I remain only volunteer. I chose to disable automatic caption censorship unlike most YouTube channels, and as a result, things like this may happen.

Reddit post on r/jerma985 with Silver and Wholesome awards reading, "To whoever runs 2ndJerma: Please turn off the option that censors the captions."

Imgur link shows how to disable automatic caption censorship on YouTube via advanced channel settings.

Cats and lasagna... where have I seen this before?

Comic: An orange cat sleeps next to an empty baking tray with crumbs in it. Its owner walks up and notices the empty tray. The owner scolds the cat, "Dorfeldt, that was my lasagna!" The cat lazily wakes and thinks, "Oh, brother." The owner goes on, "I hope you enjoyed my lasagna, Dorfeldt. Please note that I've activated the neurotoxin emitters in this room." Volunteer subtitling is thankless work. And even harder when YouTube breaks the subtitle editor permission. Look, I try, but it's not easy being a bottleneck, quality control, getting ghosted, and falling being schedule. Resurrecting community captions by myself with no real support is not easy.

Anonymized YouTube comment reply reads: it clearly does not benefit deaf people to have demand go up for subtitles catered to people that can hear and only turn them on for shits and giggles and not because they need them to understand the words being said because that will just cause all of them to exist to entertain non-deaf people and not for clarity of understanding when people already infest the subtitles section with shitty unfunny joke captions that are incoherent and are only done as a self promotion

On 2ndJerma's YouTube Studio, as a subtitle editor, the entire page is completely blank
