Alright! Kicking off Don't Ink Twice with some kick drums! In the 9 years of this month-long challenge, I'm shocked that I've never drawn a Muppet! Hard to not love the absolute chaos that is 'Animal'; this is the first time I've ever drawn him! Here we go, Doodlers! Happy #dontinktwice!

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 27/09/2026

It's the return of the month-long illustration challenge: Don't Ink Twice! I'm given a list of words, I don't see the day's word until I sit down to draw; whatever comes to mind is my subject! The challenge begins OCT 1st, Doodlers! Happy #dontinktwice Find out more at: www.dontinktwice.com

PAXWest 2024* (this was a very long thread, I was bound to flub up a few times)

000

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

And with that, we come to the end of this long thread of all of the historical posts I made about this game. I leave you with this, another poster that I presented to both Wishes Unlimited and Finji at PAXWest 2024, this time in the style of Calvin and Hobbes.

 Happy 5th Anniversary, Chicory!

A poster dedicated to Chicory A Colorful Tale, this time in the replicated art style seen in the newspaper comic strip 'Calvin and Hobbes', featuring the two main characters from the video game.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

As a penultimate post, here's the small little shrine I have dedicated to all of the items I've collected related to this game. I don't do this often, but this game means that much to me and my friends that I need to get as much of these things as possible. It's a great conversation starter!

A photograph of a bunch of items related to the video game Chicory A Colorful Tale, ranging from vinyl records, the collectors edition, art cards, the CD of the soundtrack, and even a small colorable plushy in the shape of the main character.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

Might as well take the opportunity to plug the story surgery video I made all those years ago, specifically going into detail just how much I truly enjoyed this game, the story it told, the characters that introduced me too, and everything else in between: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ji4n...

This is still one of my favorite artwork that I made for this beautiful game. This literally was my lock screen on my tablet for the better part of five years. This game truly does mean a whole lot to me, and to a lot of my closest friends.

Chicory and Pizza sit underneath a visual orchestra of color, varying and shapes and sizes and hues in saturations. They stare lovingly upward.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

Have yourself a series of doodles without any sort of context.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

I remember this trend going around if people redrawing a particular screenshot from WandaVision, and I just felt like doing the same thing with Pizza.

Main character from the video game posing in the style of a screenshot from the TV series WandaVision.

What else needs saying. Stonks.

Stonks.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

Here, have a doodle of Clementine when they were younger, showcasing that they've been a doodler since they were a kid.

Clementine shows off their illustration of themselves and their older sibling. They are very proud of themselves.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

There was a reference to a previous wheeler of the brush named Rhubarb in the game. This is my interpretation of the character. Just a scraggly old man, with a particular affiliation with tile rummy.

An old man who loves challenging people to a game of tile rummy.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

This artwork exists entirely due to LunaDoggie, who covered the inside of Blackberry's hut in stamps in the shape of the crewmate from Among Us. That's really the only context you need.

Blackberry is tormented by a clown. Why, we do not know.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

There was another user in the Finji Discord, cosmicheartz, who had a Drawdog named 'Cinnamon'. I just felt compelled to draw the dog. And here they are!

A rendition of the main character from Chicory A Colorful Tale.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

Sometimes, it is totally OK to be the airhead in the room. Even if the room is everywhere, all of the time. Something about Pizza's personality just lens credence to this idea. Both a blessing, and curse. For better or worse.

Chicory floats in the waters as it means of clearing their head. Pizza doesn't need to do that, their head is always empty.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

This was another funny idea that came about through conversation on the Finji Discord. I could literally hear the voice of Timmy's Dad in my head, so I had to draw this idea down in the form of this comic. It was too good not to.

Chicory sits in their room, completely minding their own business, when pizza decides to blast down the door using a giant explosive paintball that they moved from a completely different part of the map to Chicory's front door.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

This comic idea came to me about what if Pickle was the Wielder of the brush. Sometimes, you might think you'll know how something will be, but you just gotta set up your expectations for things to be unexpected.

Pickle has received a magic brush of their own. Pizza thought it would look different. Chicory saw right through their thought process.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

There was a point in time when we watched Olive The Other Reindeer in our little pocket community. I don't know how this idea entered the brain, but it did. And now you are seeing it. You are welcome for this.

Pizza The Other Wielder

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

Holy smokes, there were way more doodles in this folder I have saved.

Pizza is stressed out.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

Back in the day, @hazyfeverdream.bsky.social made a comment about accidentally erasing part of Pickle's drawing and got sad about it and started the game over. This image needed to be doodled.

Pizza has done the unthinkable and erased part of the artwork made by the marvelous Pickle. They weep for their crimes.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

If you know what this is in reference to, you win a very small, pocket-able Pizza.

Chicory ponders with their personal Pizza

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

There was a point when @noodlearmsart.bsky.social played Chicory and painted the Pokémon, Cramorant, during one of their art class sessions about 'JOY'. It was perfect and needed to be immortalized. Even Clementine was happy about it.

The draw dog has painted a Cramorant while their sibling looks on with a face full of joy.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

Another meme recreation image. That's the whole post. Just a dog with some coffee.

A graphic with two different dogs with two different cups of coffee on their heads.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

This was a separate post from the original thread, but this needs to be included. There was one joke that was made during Kirby's playthrough of Chicory that resulted in my making a reference to Metal Gear Solid. I felt inspired to make this art based on that. Also, this art style was tricky.

Artwork in the style of Metal Gear Solid featuring both the main character from Chicory A Colorful Tale dressed up as Solid Snake, as well as the chat from the stream at the time.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

There was a meme a while ago where somebody posted a graphic of their brother holding a child up to a security camera with a screen. People started redrawing different characters in these poses. When it came to both Pizza and Chicory, it just felt too perfect not to.

Chicory holds Pizza up to the security camera for a photo op. Pickle snaps a photo of this event for the internet to see.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

Having two Finji games that have anthropomorphic main characters but also have non-anthropomorphic animals also walking around. People talked about it with #NITW just like they did with Chicory. It's fine, just don't think about it.

Mae Borrowski and Pizza and ponder where exactly the small child came from.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

And then they were these pieces that focused on the idea of reflections. Not doing anything in particular, just sort of flushing out ideas concepts. A fun little way of referencing something that happens in the game without outright telling you what it is. If you know, you know.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

Among all the other conversations, we’ll occasionally talk technical stuffs with arts. One conversation was about Gradients and how they function. So, there was this image I did in Black and White with two types of gradients to showcase it

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

Another Meme Recreation. This was casually lingering in the back of the mind for a while and I finally said, you know what, I’m just gonna make it. Gave me the chance to return to the ‘Hare Ties’ from before.

A recreation of the meme where two folks are walking in the snow and one of them professes how they enjoy spending time with each other.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

Sometimes, finding a doodle inside back and forward conversations really can produce gold. Like the idea of the Creative Canine tackling people who diss on Chicory in any way.

Pizza is blocking out the haters. By any means necessary.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

This was a special edition version of the poster I made using the colors in the Wishes Unlimited logo as the color palette that I presented to @greg.style at PAX WEST 2025. Glad that the color swap still worked!

A recreation of the classic TRON poster from 1982 featuring the characters from Chicory A Colorful Tale, this time using the colors from the game development studio Wishes Unlimited as the palette.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

This was another fan poster I did. I was talking about how Chicory uses a ‘Secondary Character Title’ in that the name of the story isn’t about the main character. And then… well, I made the connection to one of my favorite film series: TRON #tronlives

A recreation of the classic TRON poster from 1982 featuring the characters from Chicory A Colorful Tale.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

Then there was that one time when when something got shared in the Finji Discord and the reactions it got where intense. Action had to be taken.

Sonic fused with Garfield. That's all you need to know.

And the abomination is gone. Thank you Pizza.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

One user in the Finji Discord was doing a 100% run, which included doing a bunch of Art Classes in quick succession late into the night / early morning. The idea of Quinoa having to sit their and watch the Painting Pup. Pajamas and all.

Late night painting lessons is a good exercise, but horrid on the teachers who go to bed early.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

In case anyone was ever curious if I my Story Development and Analysis stuff bleeds into other servers and stuff, here’s an example of me randomly talking about characterization of the main character. And a doodle to go with it.

Pizza stands in front of a wall of text that EPZ posted in Discord talking about story development and how character structures are within the game Chicory A Colorful Tale.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

This meme redraw got passed around a ton over on the ol' bird site back in the day, and this still remains to be one of the funniest things I've drawn. It still makes me smile.

The main character from Chicory A Colorful Tale is running around with the Brush which pisses of Blackberry, another character from the game, who chases after them. This is in reference to a very popular vine where I kid is running around with a knife and his mom chases after them.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

There was that one time I realized that having Donuts/Holeys connected to racoon characters somehow makes the 'Finji and @annapurna.com Interactive Connective Universe'. Coincidence, sure, but I like to imagine that Dad would enjoy going to #donutcounty.

The Dad from Chicory A Colorful Tale and BK, both of whom are racoon characters from video games, have a joint connection to the idea of Donuts. They would be friends, I am sure of it.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

A user was going around coloring in all the areas of Picnic in incredible detail. The conversational idea of the Pup rolling around in the paint was pitched, so the first doodle happened. Then the question of removing the paint came up, hence the second doodle.

Mom and Dad look at the complete wreck that is their child, covered head to toe in green paint. The child, however, does not seem bothered by this at all.

Mom and Dad look at the complete catastrophe that is both of their children covered in green paint, made even stranger by the fact that one of them is in a bathtub that somehow magically turned green.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

We were given a delightful biology lesson from the user, Robin Nightmares, who let us know that Hares will fold their ears in in colder temperatures to keep them warm. So this doodle happened. (If I didn’t make the ‘Hare Ties’ pun, I feel like I would have been harmed by the universe)

Pizza marvels at the image of Chicory putting her rabbit ears up in a bun with some hare ties. The puns just write themselves, folks.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

There was one point in time when @1c3w01f.bsky.social and a user named MagentaGirl were doodling the pooch with striking Anime Eyes, felt compelled to join in… I did not expect it to get this involved. The Lore of the Dog Wanting a Candy Bar continues.

Try all you want with them big ol' eyes, it ain't working. You're not going to eat any chocolate, you little dog creature.

1C3 doodled the anime eyes of the draw dog. Ideas ensued.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

Someone shared a doodle in the Finji Discord from @missmorri.bsky.social of many Doodle Dogs with various amounts of foods. Folks noticed that one was of the Pup holding a Candy Bar… which the concept of Dogs and Chocolate is a bit of a concern. I had to draw something, giggling the entire time.

Pizza ate something they shouldn't have. Chicory ain't having ANY of that mess.

Sometimes, not even the widest of puppy dog eyes will get you out of something. Especially not if it is a life or death situation over the consumption of a chocolate bar.

Context for the reason the doodles existed, including the sharing of the post from Miss Mori and all of their draw dogs and foods.

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

One conversation in the Finji Discord was talking about what name/animal Madeline from #Celeste would be if they were a resident of Picnic. The name ‘Strawberry’ and the idea of a Mountain Goat. These were incredibly fun to conceptualize and doodle!

Madeline, the main character from the video game Celeste, has been re-drawn in the style of Chicory A Colorful Tale, where their visual designed was based off of a mountain goat. There was the question whether or not to include Madeleine's hair or change that game mechanic to be associated with the horns of the goat.

CLIMB THAT MOUNTAIN ALREADY

EPZ379 @epz379.com · 12/06/2026

Next up was @afterglowampharos.pmd.social who made the decision to make their pup, “Pasta,” more intimidating when going into the Tree located in the depths. This backfired immediately.

The main character from Chicory A Colorful Tale has come face-to-face with their doppelgänger in the game, which base is their image off of what the character is wearing at the time. In this case, they were wearing a spiked collar and a spiked helmet, which was very unfortunate.
