I saw a raccoon this morning. I have never seen a raccoon around here. It was just casually crossing the street. Then I saw 2 bunnies in 2 different spots. Both of them watched me walk past instead of hiding. Seeing bunnies is less rare, but they always run away. Oddly, Lily ignored all 3 animals.

Blergh. I should have stayed inside with my book. A neighbor confronted me out of the blue, saying our shared yard wall is eroding on their side bc I have a flowerbed & am “watering it too much.” Then a big dog attacked Lily at the park. (She’s ok) And it’s still cloudy.

Huh. I don’t think I’ve ever seen all of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea before. There are definitely some old-school racism parts. 😒 I can totally imagine how Disney could make a well done modern adaptation though. Jules Verne books are quality source material.

I agree with your recommendation! I listened to Jeeves & Wooster audiobooks after my oldest was born. They were just the right sort of stories to get me through all the post-partum hardships. (Only downside: jostling the baby when I’d lol at a particularly funny bit while breastfeeding)

Husband’s parents sent me amaryllis bulbs. They are family heirlooms, cared for by his family as they bloom and go dormant for decades. They originally belonged to an Aunt who passed away years ago. I’m nervous about taking on the mantle of responsibility, but they’re doing great so far!

I recently attended a continuing ed lecture on 19th c. British drama bc the course description mentioned “What the Butler Saw.” I thought that was an Agatha Christie type mystery movie. Reader, it is NOT. I have never been more wrong. It ended up being a lecture about dark humor in stage plays.

Spent a gorgeous, peaceful day at the zoo
